They said, the car will have a beautiful sound...so a flat plane crank would be impossible :-)

Fantastic news. That has to be a perfect combination for the new TVR. Cosworth and Gordon Murray. Roaring back!

Would be nice. But I think it'll be a crate US engine reworked by Cosworth to remove any social stigma and taken seriously.

My guess is a Ford V8.

Its a cracking engine to start with. Adding a bit of 'Cosworth' to it will bring huge marketing kudos. As you can see with Aston, no one ever raises an eyebrow about the Ford engines in those cars and all Aston really did was pay for their name to be above the door of Ford's factory in Germany!

Mustang Coyote was used in the AWD Ken Block Mustang. It's a revvy piece of work.

Liking the artwork. Hints of Typhoon in there. Let's see.

Going to be built like a Typhon also. Composites and aluminium bonded around a tubular chassis. biggrin

Guess Gordon worked out how to do that without needing the hundreds of man hours that made the Typhon unviable commercially.

But it's interesting that 15 years ago TVR were building a car on the same sort of basis that is now being mooted as the future of mass car construction.

After reading many similar stories since the demise of TVR in 2006, I have to admit I had lost a little interest in TVR and its potential due to the constant anticlimax, this however has got me very upbeat and excited, where do I sign and leave my deposit!?

Maybe I will have to chop The Griff in after all?!

Hmm.. Given that they have no factory, haven't even decided where the car will be made, have no engine, no idea of how the vehicle will be priced (understandable given the aforementioned) and nothing really beyond some PR I would be inclined to keep the chequebook in your pocket for now. wink

Cropley's "article" reads like a press release.......

agreed

they have an engine, the car will be made in the UK as the Istream process needs little in setting up
and they've said how much already ( about 55K )

so how about you crack a smile about the fact that they're coming back and doing it right

Sorry its not doing it for me. Good though the car may be it has zero to do with anything of TVR's history. Would be better of they stick EGR (Edgar) on the front rather than TVR
