John Kent, works assisted driver in the late '70's with his 3000M. Went on to race Tuscans if I remember correctly.

Cheers,
JSG.

It's a thing that makes the car go faster... but that's not important right now.

Gawd, am I really that old??

The Tasmin Turbo was shown at the 1982 Motor Show. I was helping TVR on the stand that year and I was told on press day not to touch the car as the paint was still tacky
The engine was developed by Tony Jones of AVJ but due, partly to Peter Wheeler buying TVR from Martin Lilley around that time and plans for the cheaper option of Rover V8 power, the turbo was never put into production. Peter used the car as his own daily transport for some time, last time I saw it was a couple of years ago at Back Home, having been nicely restored by it's current owner.

Oh yes, that does look like John Kent in the pic! He, Colin Blower, Chris Alford and Chris Meek all successfully drove M-series cars during the 70s. John, Steve Cole and Colin Blower then moved on to racing Tasmins in prodsports for a couple of years and then onto Tuscan Challenge cars.

Claire

TVR100 used to belong to John (I think thats what Roop told me once).

I know that 280 Tasmin Turbo very well as will anyone else from the North West. It is currently owned by Chris Tierney and it is absolutely mint. It was the only one ever made and it has made numerous appearances at Back Home, more often than not winning the concourse.
