Hi all,
My car is in the classifieds and I've had two enquiries recently from potential buyers in France... scratchchin
Each has asked for a scan of the V5 and other docs such as MOT etc. I understand that the info is needed to enquire about registration certificates.
While the enquiries seem legitimate, the idea of sending a copy of my log book overseas doesn't seem quite right to me..
I welcome any advice. (And/or a UK buyer!!?! wink)
Cheers,
Graham

Why not do a search on here?

Have a feeling exactly the same question has been asked before - and the buyer/enquiry was perfectly legitimate.

I'd imagine any prospective "distance" buyer would want to ensure that the seller has legal title to the car before going to the expense of travelling to the UK and/or (perhaps) transferring a deposit?
Can appreciate your concern though.

The details in the V5 are very important to do your homework and the contact with the local council(s).
It is important to make sure you can get the car on the road before buying.
I can understand that you feel unconfortable about it.
But if you are not supplying the copy or scan (not the original of course) of the V5 you would lose most of the foreign buyers and they are usually fast buyers. I would recommend to hide your details (name and address) as they are not needed anyway.

Hi,
I'm actually buying my second Chim (5.0L)in England. In fact to register the car in France we need a Coc furnished by TVR. for the coc we need a copy of the part N°4 of the V5 and the registration number.
