Well bearing in mind I've never seen or met either of those 2, they've never seen my car before or after repair and I have 2 independent inspection reports backing up my complaints then I couldn't care less what those People think.
If they know something I don't then speak out, I'm happy to share..... Though it would be good to know how you know me and my car so well despite having never once come across each other? Unless your an acquaintance of someone from the original repairing garage?
But as this could go legal very soon I take it you all have proof to back up your reasons?

I'd suggest a play on words. As i said they've never seen or met me nor seen my car and neither have they come across me on this website so I'd love to hear what they know and how - facts rather than hearsay.

I'm lost too. Quite why a random insult has appeared seemingly at someone who no-one knows is very odd! All very random!!

Anyway, if it helps... My respray was by Ric at Salford Service Centre in Milton keynes, next door to Dave the trimmer. I'm really pleased with the final quality and whilst there were some issues, Ric (and the owner Ron) did put effort into fixing them and we got there.
Just wish I'd gone for yellow now smile

Your a funny little old fella..

And so what if its an insurance job. Tonys car suffered damage from what I remember. The original out fit have repaired it and presumably as it was a while a go have tried to rectify it. I'm guessing it's now come to the point where tony has ascertained that his original choice of body shop can't actually provide the quality of repair he wants. What's so difficult to grasp!

I've actually met this chap on a thunder in tunnels event and he didn't seem like he was The king of the swindlers so before you make accusations have a little think before touching the keys.

Amazes me Zippee doesn't use these, since he recommends them so highly

Hi Mark - a little further afield but I can thoroughly recommend Hiltons in Bishops Stortford, not the cheapest but they do a fantastic job. They can also still source the original oil based paints for TVRs smile

Not sure where all this animosity for the OP has come from. I have met him once about 2 years ago when his car was looking pristine, so a very light association, and am fairly impartial with these things. The OP has provided me with some pictorial evidence of the paint work, and from the images provided the paint work has serious issues. There is clear evidence (for whatever reason) of de-lamination and poor adhesion, over spray etc. Obviously I cant comment further as I haven't seen the car. I'm reasonably familiar with some of the issues having done some "fun" painting at a friends body shop.

Before posting people need to consider what they would do in the same situation. If this was your pride and joy and you weren't 100% satisfied would you sit back and accept it. Id like to think the answer from the majority of people would be "no". In such a case you would work with your original choice of bodyshop to resolve the issues. Sometimes this approach works, other times the situation is un-resolvable and therefore you need to find an alternative approach.

In this case the relationship for whatever reason has broken down and the OP is going elsewhere. Its as simple as that.

And I must say that younger generations of potential owners looking in on threads like this must think the TVR world is full of whacko's

+1 to the above. It's a shame because in the last few months, there has been argy on the Wedge forums, Classic forums and now here.
I've always considered the TVR forums/club/meets to be some of the friendliest people, generally always willing to help out others, raise money for charity and talk about and enjoy fab cars.

Looking at some of the posts recently, I am starting to change my mind. Quite a few threads look a bit childish as of late. Maybe its the stress before Christmas syndrome!

I agree. It never used to be this bad.

I wonder if it is because, back then (10+ years ago), many didn't do much to their TVR's, apart from the odd front end re spray, change of suspension, the occasional re-trim. many didn't really do too much else. back then adding a simple sports exhaust was seen as a big deal!

Now though, we have a lot more choice, and as the cars get older, more radical upgrades are far more common, be it engine upgrades, full re sprays, full re-trims etc. I think this may have created various 'camps/factions' - we see it occasionally in the S6 forums, with some preferring the LS V8 conversions, or even arguing about the various S6 rebuild workshops.

I guess it's the same with the re-trim/re-spray bodyshops, too.
