My understanding from the Armourfend fitter who did my Griffith was that if they have templates for the car there is no need to trim on the car, and that the Armourfend used on my Griffith did indeed have a template available. I guess I can only be 100% certain if I remove the Armourfend and look smile

I had Paintshield applied on another car for which no templates are available, that had to be trimmed on the car. The fitter assured me that they only need to cut half way through the film thickness (how do they control that?) and therefore do not touch the paint, however visual inspection by me suggests otherwise.
I spent a very long day in Grantham with the Paintshield guys helping design the Griff 500 templates.
It was a good few years ago now though!!
Good to see you're still on here Tom.

Sorry we have never cut on a car ever
We had one installer who offered to do that and I fired him instantly he came to us from another vendor

I would like to have more information on this job please
Invoice number
Vin number and date of install as I can look it up very quickly

And I will investigate this
Where was the car installed would be useful as well

Thanks
Please let me apologise for confusing brand names, my car was fitted with 3M Ventureshield and not Paintshield whom I have never used. I have updated my original post accordingly to ensure that my mistake is not propagated.

I have to say that I'm very confident that paintshield did not do the work on your car. Did you take the car to them in peterborough?
I have worked at paintshield countless times and not once have i seen them cut on a car. They are the most experienced installers in the uk and do everything by CAD design. I send all my clients there and if i had any doubt in how good they are, then i would send them somewhere else.

The film they now use is the best on the market right now, better than expel. Even i struggle to see if anything has been applied to the car.

At the end of the day, everyone is free to take their car where they want, but if you want the best job, done in the safest way by the best installers, then there is only one place to take it.

Just to point out that i gain nothing by posting this, but just want to make sure people realise that they never cut on cars.

i thought that might be the case mate. People often use one brand name for a wide range of the same product.

Okay let's take this from the top
You are still being disingenuous
You don't seem to be comparing like for like
No different to you failing to declare your car was a replica of a mark two when you first enquires a year ago you failed in all that time to declare this leaving it to us to discover when your vehicle arrived
Now whether you like it or not at the level of precision we are talking about the vehicles are dimensionally different
In our experience no two grp moulds are ever identical when made by hand
Take the cerbera and the chimaeras there were four moulds in play I was given to understand by the factory when they were produced two in the Far East and two in Blackpool as a consequence we have four sets of patterns for both those cars

Post a photograph of the side of your car and the side of a safaris up and tell me the panel in front of the doors behind the front wheels is not considerably different and that is obvious from the photograph

The real saggaris mark one was asymmetrical across its panels side to side your construction is much closer panel for panel across the two sides

The bottom line is you mislead us as to the nature of this car and did not like the fact we felt it necessary to treat this as a one off and price accordingly
I made thi

And let's not get into the fact I am stuck with a car I won't be working on as you failed to arrange uplift until this afternoon
Your guy rang me after hours to arrange an uplift when the access road is being repaired
You have had more than enough time to arrange uplift and were asked repealtedly to collect and yet a call only arrives after the business was closed for the day with a request that could not be complied with

We have done absolutely nothing wrong here as our email exchanges will verify

The car was diarised for delivery on the Thursday it didn't materialise until the Friday collection was scheduled for the following Tuesday and still your vehicle remains with us long after you made plain you decided to go else where as you didn't want to be a Guinea pig for design notwithstanding the price
Well as there was only one we knew of and as it never came to us for design and given your car is a replica not even a factory build then it's pretty clear it would need a design to some degree
As I have said had you told us this anytime over the last year none of this would have occurred
Tom,

As I have said I have not been derogative towards your company and I'm certainly not being disingenuous.
Like for like is not possible to appraise as your two companies use different material.
As I've said all along it was down to price.

I told you straight I wasn't happy to pay £725.00 Template cost, I assumed incorrectly as it transpires that you would
Have the appropriate Template. No I didn't mention it was a Mk2, and no I didn't mention it was a Replica, hybrid or whatever
Other phrase you have used. I know for a fact that you have fitted film to a Mk2, and assumed you'd have the Template if I wished to be malicious I'd go into that installation in more detail!!
I'm not entering into a slanging match with you over the design of my car. I've explained why the wheel arch detail
Is different and you've chosen not to take that onboard, I know of Two owners that have had this upgrade applied to there cars, the front film area remains the same.

As for the transport, I actually arranged collection on Wednesday, they took my details
And told me they would contact you directly, the fact they only contacted you today at 16.40 was out of my control
I checked your web site and it states that you are open until 21.00 today.

Once again I mailed you personally reference the hostility your company showed towards the driver, whether that was
You or an employee it's unacceptable! He is a contractor carrying out his work with no regard whatsoever to your
Grievance with me.

So from the top.

Car arrives at Paint Shield, call comes in to say you haven't got the template and it would cost an extra £725
To Template. After a few mails/ conversations I decide to cancel my fitment and obtain other suggestions/quotes.

You ask me to collect the car or you'll charge storage.
Transport arranged.

It really is that simple, you've turned this into the fiasco it has become.

Let's not hide behind your sudo name, you are In fact Tom Wakeford The Managing Director of Paint Shield.

I will repeat, I have in no way been derogative to Paint Shield, but I will say your attitude towards me leaves a lot to
Be desired.

I hope any piers reading this post see the kind of customer service your company provide.
All this because I refuse to pay a template charge and choose to take my business elsewhere.
Disgusting

The only thing disgusting here is the telephone call I just had with you
I have sent an email informing you that that type of abuse over the phone is unacceptable and issued instruction that no one is to speak to you from within the business following your abusive tone

I have also requested once more that your vehicle be removed from our workshop
By close of business Tuesday

That is my last word on this subject
Tom you seem to want to air all in public.

To make it clear you phoned me and left a long whining message,
I called you back as your whining went on for so long the voice mail ended without you concluding your point.
After almost 10 minutes of listening to you shout at me and not for one minute having any regard for what I was saying I lost my temper with you.

It was wrong of me to use that language and I apologise.
