I was filling up with thee ole Shell champagne last sunday and a guy at the next pump said; " Lovely car mate". So I said the usual "cheers mate, etc". He then proceeded to say "I love all TVRs, but Griffiths the daddy!". Cool.... How good did THAT feel!

Surfice to say, I am now on the lookout for the registration D4 DDY...

I was driving round the Reading IDR this afternoon with my son and a red Pug 106 'Rallaye' with noisy pipe and loud stereo pulls alongside and the passenger window goes down. Two yoofs, no caps and the passenger shouts "love the sound of that engine mate". Driver even turns his stereo off to listen.

So I had to drop it down a cog and give it the full effect didn't I?

Two future PHer's there I think.

'Yelled across three lanes of jammed motorway traffic'

Didn't know NZ had traffic jams. You mean it's not all lovely scenery, cows and 'England in the 50's'? Ho hum, another dream shattered.

I've had the biker nod too. Two bikes went past me whilst toddling along in traffic. Guy at the back pointed at the car as he went past and gave a thumbs up.

Think it upset the guy in the 996 behind me tho...

Had to drive into Buck Palace last night to pick up a friend. (Before anyone contacts the papers, it wasn't Zara!) Guards and Police smiled, should have seen the tourists gawping when I left later that night .. .

Pelo - have friends who race in HQ Holden series - went to one of the meets at Taupo back in 1997 - you are all mental! I'd like to take my Chimaera on the road from Auckland to Russell - is it still as dangerous as it was?
