Hi All,

I'm going on a boat trip in Peterborough next weekend (don't ask.... ) and as I have about 1000 agreed miles to do in three weeks before my insurance policy runs out with my current (cr@p!) insururers I might just take my S3 up there.

My very open question is, apart from the A1M, has anyone any suggestions for some interesting roads/routes from Uxbridge to Peterbough?

Cheers,

Dave.

Hi,

Try the A10 (runs from London/enfield all the way to Kings Lynn, with a few kinks and sections of other road (like M11/A14). Can stop off at Cambridge too if you have the time. There is a very nice piece of road (can't remember the number, even though I have driven it a million times) from Downham Market to Wisbech, and then pick up the A47.

It is mostly single carriageway but not too bad.
It may be better for you to head to Luton, then find the A10 north of there.

Final option is A6 all the way to Leicester then A47 east to Peterborough (not travelled this myself, only sections of the A6)

Have fun

Excellent fun road - loads of license losing speeding opportunities and some nice bends.....
