If some of it is basic mechanical stuff - the thermostat you mention - then Autofix in Coulsdon might be able to help. I've [and my family] used them on my 'normal cars' for many years for MOTs and for servicing / repairs when I don't have time to.

They did the engine mounts on Samy (S3C) when I didn't have time and it turns out they look after a few Chims in the local area. I wouldn't say they are a specialist but they do have mechanical expirence of the Chim and the S.

Public Transport links are direct back to or from Croydon as well - just in case you don't fancy riding a bike, running or rambling home.

But yes, I have the same issue. It's great if I drop off and pick up when going to and from work, but if I need to get back home it's pretty useless so I dismantle my bike, put it in the boot and cycle back.

There are plenty of options on public transport in this neck of the woods if you think about it, SW trains through Stoneligh/Ewell Westand Southern through Epsom Downs, Tattenham Corner, Ewell East to anywhere from Guilford to Croydon, and many other points SW London. If the OP is in Croydon, no problem. Elmwood will drop you at any of those. As someone also said you can leave your keys securely with Jet. Also plenty of like-minded owners locally who would probably volunteer a lift if necessary. I can recommend their work and attitude and labour rates are favourable.

Thanks Peter! I'm far too busy with work these days sadly so I have no time to do any tinkering myself - hence looking for a decent garage. I will give TVR Fix and Dave B a call and see what's what. Very much looking forward to driving it again this summer though - it's been about 4 years since I took it out on a summers day!

David Batty would my choice, absolute gentleman, and no-nonsense service.
He's been looking after my car for the past 7 years.

Plus he's a short walk from the main line station into London.

Went to Dave Batty in the end who I have actually used before a very long time ago but moved away and forgot he was there.. He did a very thorough job and is an absolutely top chap to boot. One of the only good, honest TVR indie's I've ever used, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone

I will second this. David Batty and his son Darren have been looking after my Griff for over 5 years. He is gentleman and one of the very few that I would trust with my TVR.

I have just picked up my Griff from him, back from a service, MOT, new windscreen and new dash, all the work is absolutely spot on as always and all without any hint of rip off.
