Which space saver for a 5 stud hub?
Discussion
I'm looking for a space saver wheel that I can use when touring. My Chimaera has the 5 stud conversion with AP front callipers. 16" Spiders just fit round the callipers. The wheels are standard Tam, T350, Tusc 16" options. Has anyone found a space save spare that works for front & back?

I got a mitsubishi evo space saver (evo 6 2001 model) which fits. Found it on ebay but it only fits over there rear calipers. Was purely bought as emergency when I went to Le Mans. You hav eto be careful as some don't fit under the arch. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mitsubishi-evo-4-5-6-spa...

Same predicament as you Bob, so you cant get a space saver for 5 stud fronts with AP calipers, just the rear??portzi said:

I did some research and I think you can but they are like hens teeth. There is a thread floating around about them. Also although the 5 studs are from a Jeep cherokee for our cars (t cars anyway) the space savers from jeep are the ones that don't fit under the arches

Stock front tyre 225/45-16 rolling diameter = 608mm
Stock rear tyre 245/45-16 rolling diameter = 626mm
Space saver 125/85-16 rolling diameter = 619mm
Ride height variation across axle when running the space saver.
Front 5.5mm higher
Rear 3.5mm lower
I think I could live with that to get me to a garage

Quick update, Mitsubishi Evo 6 16" space saver does not fit over the standard AP front calliper. If I added a spacer, 14mm or bigger then it would clear the calliper but in my opinion 14mm leaves too little of the threaded wheel studs so that's not an acceptable solution. I've got a 17" space saver which may fit but the tyre size required for a similar rolling diameter is not available so I haven't bothered test fitting it

I've got a RX7's space saver for the Cerbera (4.2), it fits the rear ok and the front with a 3mm spacer. It did need the centre hole reaming out a tad to fit though.
does your Cerbera have AP 4 pot front callipers. It's the outboard projection of that calliper that contacts on the the inner face of the space saver. Other callipers will have different shape and outboard projectionGassing Station | General TVR Stuff & Gossip | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
