Drifting off the original factory spec on all marks?
Discussion
I'm open minded when it comes to upgrades, most Tvr owners I've met have carried out an upgrade of
Some form or another.
When I undertook my project I was mindfull not to use an immaculate Mk1 Tuscan, it would certainly have been a cheaper alternative but I didn't want to alter an already pristine example.
I sourced a car that in reality was only fit for spares and feel that had I not have carried out my project this car would have been lost to one of the infamous Tvr breakers.
I didn't really set out with resale value in mind, I wanted to do something different and I must say the car has been well received by most that I meet.
I'm guessing as the years past it will get harder to source some parts and upgrades will become an acceptable addition to
Keep these cars alive.

Darren I was at Scampton with you last year and I love what you've done to that Tuscan, in my head you've created a variant that surely TVR would have created eventually, a convertible Sagaris. If you recall it was raining which was a shame as you were parked next Paul's blue Sag, it would have been good to compare the 2 cars, one with roof on and one with the roof off. That said, neither were as good looking as my Tam
I will be keeping mine as 'standard' as possible....want them as reference vehicles TBH. The T350 is currently over at Str8six, having the rad core replaced as it had a leak....the rad is a cut down Cerbera rad according to Jason, it's a one off! The rad also sits completely horizontally in the car and not canted at an angle like the production car...nuts, since the cooling effect of the rad is obviously reduced....but its all going back together as originally built. Dave the Trimmer has just finsihed some work on the car also (fab work Dave by the way), and the floor of the boot area is somewhat different to the production car...guess what....kept it all exactly as originally built....
In the end in my book, like most other things in life..... it's whatever floats your boat.... ....

I wanted the Sagaris to be OEM+ - the way the Sagaris would have been later on if they finished polishing it at the factory.
Sag Mk2 had close to the rear lights I run, one piece bonnet and so on. The paint isn't standard, and the engine is still a TVR 4.0.... kind of.
Either which way - it's not going until I die, so it's a moot point.

Agreed
but does turbos and Superchargers push the limits from what especially Chim/Griff makes were meant to be...beautiful sounding V8's
Errm, well I have a turbo Chimeara, sounds the same as it did before but does turbos and Superchargers push the limits from what especially Chim/Griff makes were meant to be...beautiful sounding V8's
Also, TVR IIRC produced the first turbocharged road going car
Although i have made a statement on this,i can honestly say i have never heard one from the inside or a drive by..
End of the day, its each to their own, and there will be plenty of standards left to choose from against the modifieds, due to peoples perception on how the TVR(especially the older ones)should now be
