I was with Admiral for £180 per year with all the bells and whistles, but cancelled my insurance once I told them I had the 4.3 upgrade (Tamora) and the value had increased. (It didn't help matters when the Admiral agent I called struggled with the most basic of English, so something probably got lost in translation...)

I rang Mannings and got cover there and then for £460. Was I diddled? hehe

I'm not a TVR owner yet, but if things work out and I decide to get one, what kind of value does insurance typically put on the car? If I pay £25k for a Mk1 Tuscan, does "Market Value" consider it worth £25k or if the worst happened (stolen or written off) would insurance decide market value on a 15 year old car is only £15k?

Best getting an agreed value policy (rather than your bogo market value' type with one of the specialists like Manning, MSM etc. Takes all the stress and arguments out of the already stressful process of dealing with the insurance should the worst happen

Are they competitive or do you pay a premium?

Renewed with Aviva. They gave me a price I couldn't say no to. You need to get on the phone to them and ask to put it through to the underwriters. I'm 23 and pay less than what most adults pay for insurance.

I have basic cover but if I need to do a track day, Sky insurance charge £90 for one day track cover and it keeps any claims separate from my no claims bonus should the worst happen.

Agreed value cost me £10 more and was very little hassle to set up, just needed detailed photos & spec sheet for the car. You get what you pay for with insurance so complete your due diligence carefully, you won't know how good it is until you come to claim and then it could be too late so ask for other peoples experience who have claimed. I would endorse MSM as a broker, whose policies are underwritten by KGM

Three things worth paying a premium for in life, decent tyres, jonnies & car insurance. They can save your life & a st load of cash.

I moved from Mannings this year, policy went up a lot, they wouldnt move on it and I currently have stopped track days.

The major insurers now will insure the Cerbera. I'm now insured with Privilege for less than a third of what Mannings wanted.
