Had a senior moment 2 years ago when installing the engine and gear box and fitted the gear lever180degrees the wrong way round which means the knob is effectively upside down! No comments on who is the knob pleaserolleyes

Anyways I am in the middle of servicing the car and have the exhaust off and thought I would sort it out from underneath. Unfortunately I can't remember how it fitted! If I back off the nylock from under the car will I be able to turn the gear stick through 180 degrees or is there a pin/ slot arrangement?

Cheers
Ian

I can't speak for Griffs specifically, but on the Cerbera the gear lever (the bit you see in the car) is joined to the T5's selector lever with a pair of nuts and bolts in a sort of spliced arrangement. Inside the box the selector lever has a ball end which sits in a nylon cup. You could adjust it at either I suppose.

Why can't you just undo the actual knob by half a turn and lock it off?

Thanks for the response mate - how would I lock it off? It looks as if it just tightens up to the end of the thread.

Do you not have a threaded collar below the knob? It might be inside the leather gator. Tighten the knob to the required position then rotate the collar up to it to lock‽

It's a bit hard to tell without seeing what your knob looks like!!!!! yikes

Pulled back the gaiter and all become clear one collar, two minutes and job done. Thanks Boatbouy, saved an unnecessary scramble under the car.
