For what it costs the club is worth joining. Magazine alone is worth the money. It's not expensive compared to running a TVR !!!

Just don't post anything even vaguely derogatory about TVRCC on PH. They get upset. I've done both and am a much happier bunny here smile

I joined for the first year of ownership. I wouldn't rule out joining again, but I found the forums empty TBH. If you want technical advice and timely feedback, there isn't a lot that compares with PH. I've also met some really decent, friendly and genuinely helpful people on PH. This is what I find so good about the PH crowd.

I fully understand the reasons for supporting the TVRCC and their enthusiasm for keeping the brand alive. Sprint was okay, but seemed to cover more about track events at the time, whereas, the real technical nitty gritty was on PH. Maybe it was an editorial direction thing, but I didn't find it overly enlightening. The best article I read (towards the end of my membership) was about a Canems ECU conversion. It is the is the modding/ technical type of stuff I wanted to see in the magazine and TBH, it is difficult to compete with some of the posts on here.

So, I'm 50/ 50. I'm fully appreciative of what it is about, but not necessarily overly enthused by its content. Always open to persuasion in the future of course. wink

I'm with Chuffy on this... My membership lapsed a couple of years ago, also with a number of unopened Sprint mags lying around... I went to a couple of regional meets, one in a pub where it felt like that opening scene in American Werewolf in London, and another at a racetrack where it was all a bit 'jolly hockey sticks' and follow the RO around while he sorts out what's what... Vaguely reminiscent of Dads Army.... I did however have an article wot I wrote printed (or is it published?) in one of the mags, and I was quite proud of that.. I think the reason that the mag doesn't have lots of 'interesting' 'techie' stuff in is because people like us lot on PH don't contribute the articles..... I think I might give it another go, at the very least it might assuage the guilt I feel at having left after having an article put in the mag... (thanks David biggrin )

Never bothered joining but did go to a few local "meetings" and the RO was fine with that. Did the group drive to the last Chatters event and that was cool.
Sprint looks to becoming less of a key element of the the TVR scene TBH and I also feel that the club itself needs to make a concerted effort to to become refocused on the brand and potential brand extension. Even the web site feels like it's part of a closed forum (in more ways than one). I know many people who love the marque even though they don't own a TVR and would love to "buy into the brand" - lifestyle products etc. However having seen what is generally on display in this sector at the various motor shows it just does not appear to me that there is any drive or enthusiasm to move that side of the club forward, I am not saying it's not there - I just can't see it.
The brand/lifestyle opportunities just seem to pass the club by. Now before my tin hat gets loads of dents in it - I did volunteer to look at this and I have actually had several discussions re the commercial/lifestyle opportunities but had no feed back - other than it was for the committee to decide which of course ended there.
I love the brand and really hope that TVRCC prospers in the future - but it needs to shift up a couple of gears driving
