Good news matey.

Hi Ged, yeh it was my fault I installed the distributor thinking everything was tdc but it turns out I was 180 degrees out, also the lead to the coil was a bit dodgy, I'm just relieved its up and running, I'm going to start on pulling the carpets out this weekend, so that I can cut the new ones and send them for edgeing, xworks told me that the cheap starter I got off the net which was a
Remanufactured one is a cracker, so all in all a good week.

Update,
I've decided to send the car to trimtech for recarpeting, and new viback window,
there's too many pieces to do it myself, also after the carpets are fitted its round the corner for the wing repair, (carpeting 14th and 15th, wing 16th.

Cool. thumbup
If you don't mind me asking, how much are the carpets costing mate?

Don't forget "before" and "after" pictures.

So, once the carpets, window and wing repair are done, what's left to do?

Hi Ged, normally trimtech charge £400 for a recarpeting choice of any colour, however as I already had the carpet its £300, takes two days, John and kath at trimtech are ex Tvr factory, after carpets and wing repair the dash needs to come out and be reveneered, then it's a body polish and mot and were done, car will be for sale.

Update, I have spent a small fortune on different compounds since 2011 trying to rid the car of the smoke damage without success, I was seriously considering a respray, however I decided to try something from the kitchen cupboard, and voilla it worked with ease took no more than 2 hours in total, I'm ecstatic, I won't reveal what it was just yet, I'm going to give the car a thorough wash in daylight just to make sure, so I will let you know on Saturday, here's a couple of pics one before and two after.

I've just driven the car round to our house while I washed it, and when I came to take it back round it was difficult to start, after I put it in the lockup and turned it off it wouldn't start, so I've left it to cool and will go round later and see if it starts, I hope so otherwise I cannot take it for the carpets on Monday.

Start with the basics.
1. Fuel? Have you got any in the tank?
2. Is the battery healthy and fully charged??
3. Is the pump priming when you key on?
4. Is the 80 Amp fuse intact?
5. Are all the HT leads on and secure?
6. Are all the wires to the coil secure? Are you getting a strong spark?
7. Are you getting a strong spark?
8. Are all the wires to the alternator secure?

Hope this helps, best of luck.
