Start with the basics.
1. Fuel? Have you got any in the tank?
2. Is the battery healthy and fully charged??
3. Is the pump priming when you key on?
4. Is the 80 Amp fuse intact?
5. Are all the HT leads on and secure?
6. Are all the wires to the coil secure? Are you getting a strong spark?
7. Are you getting a strong spark?
8. Are all the wires to the alternator secure?

Hope this helps, best of luck.
Hi Ged, I drove the car home to wash it and it was OK, I washed it and rinsed one side, tried to start it to turn it around so I could rinse the other side, it started but only after 3 or four trys on the starter, so I left it running while I finished, I drove it back to the lockup and stopped it and now it will not start, its turning over but not firing, I've checked the wiring and all seems OK, I know there's fuel in the tank, and I can hear the pump priming, and the battery's good, I'm picking it up in the morning onto a trailer to take it to trimtech, I have to pass xworks on the way so I will nip in to see if they can sort it, I don't think trimtech will want to push it in and out of there unit, also it's supposed to go round the corner after for the wing repair.

Ok,why not check the 80 Amp fuse - in the rat's nest in the passenger footwell and the 100 Amp fuse - on the chassis rail forward of the starter motor before loading it onto the trailer?

OK Ged, I'll have a look tonight, would the car still spin over if either of these fuses had blown?

These fuses have a habit of degrading and giving all sorts of strange issues, so it wouldn't hurt to check/replace them.

Hi Ged, I've sorted it, I went round and remembered when I had trouble with the fuel pump a few suggestions I received were to check the two grey relays behind the battery, so I went round and gave them a tap with a screwdriver handle and the car started, so I'll nip into xworks in the morning and get two replacements, phew back on track. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Just out of interest Jim, who painted your wing.

Presume it was somebody on Poulton Industrial estate.

Are you sure it's the switches?
If I remember correctly, these have a ribbon attached to the back of the switches and sometimes it's the ribbon contacts that just need cleaning up at either end.
