That's not been my experience.

Correctly maintained TVRs are quite happy being left for two, three or six months at a time - same as most other cars. Just do what is needed before you leave them, and do what is needed before you use them.

Same as any other car that you care about. smile

TVRs don't like being left in the garage is a phrase often used during the sales negotiation of what maybe considered to be a high mileage TVR when seller is trying to command a price that would be considered reasonable for a low mileage TVR wink

Thanks for comments and advice. Decided to play it safe with a z4m coupe, until I can get some sort of carport built. Will be back on here looking again next spring no doubt though!

Well, that's a very rose tinted glasses view of the RV8. Plus the camshaft change is an engine out job.
What??

AIUI, a cam change involves some back-breaking bending deep down into the bowels of the engine bay, and I suppose some DIYers might choose to do the extra work of removing the engine if they've got a hoist and stand. But it's not necessary and I wouldn't expect a garage to do all that extra work at my expense. It's what Ralgex is for! smile

remove exhaust 'y ' piece
remove inlet manifold
remove rocker covers
remove rocker shafts and withdraw pushrods
remove crank pulley
remove front cover
undo engine front mounts and lift engine slightly on a jack to allow the cam to come out

Filled with nubile 20-somethings now, sunning themselves on the beach - I think all the retirees must have moved to your village tongue outwink
