Always loved the look and style of the Morgans.
Is it worth a thought or would I am going to be disappointed?
Anyone been there?

They might be the better choice, but I don´t like the
look of the Aero modells at all.

I've never driven a Morgan or even sat in one but a few years ago we were staying at a B+B for the Classic Le Mans and there was a group of Morgan owners there as well. Over much chat in the evenings I asked one of them how long it took to get back to Calais as he had done it in the Morgan several times - only to be told that the car was not very comfortable and he could only drive it for 2 hours before he had to have a longish stop. The other Morgan drivers also said that whilst they didn't find it as bad the cars weren't too comfortable so over all it left me wondering why they were bothering even though they all seemed to have had the cars for a while so clearly they saw some attraction in them.
Doubt if that would be fully representative but is still strikes me as strange. This is certainly not my experience with either of the TVRs I've had both of which were good for reasonably long cruises so maybe you need to see what you want it for and how the general Morgan ownership views the cars.

I have driven a Morgan and enjoyed the "old world" feel to the car but they are really silly prices for what you get and I was not overly impressed with the actual dynamics of the car I drove. Even after a short drive I started to feel a little uncomfortable.
Had several TVR's and would pick one over a Morgan every time tbh.
No disrespect to Morgan owners - it's just my perception of the car.

I was invited to an open day at Portfield Sports & Classics in Chichester soon after buying my Griff from them in the late 90's, at the time they were TVR, Morgan and Aston dealers and you could choose a couple of test runs in their demo cars on the day, and one of the cars I chose was their BRG Morgan V8 roadster. I had always hankered after a V8 Morgan and after just buying the Griff wondered if I would regret trying the Mog and preferring it to the Griff. I needn't have worried. I was SO disappointed, for me the whole ergonomic and dynamic package just wasn't for me, the performance was just OK but I felt I couldn't relax and enjoy it as so much just felt wrong and I couldn't get comfortable. Chalk and cheese I know but the Griff in my opinion is just so superior. Maybe it was that particular example that wasn't so good and maybe the later cars have improved but I have never had the desire to try another Such a shame as a personal bubble was burst but still love the looks, and still find them strangely appealing.

OP - I am in the same frame of mind. Having run TVRs for over 11 years I just fancy a change but can't find much out there I like. I have been thinking about an early Morgan V6 Roadster or a plus 4 so my wife could drive it occasionally. I went to look at some on Monday and they are a bit smaller than I imagined. Not actually driven one yet.

Also contemplating a Porsche 996; maybe a 40 year anniversary or one of RPMs CSR models.

Trouble is I have been thinking of doing this for about 2 years. In part I can't be bothered with the sale process for my car and so I am also contemplating spending a bit of money on the Griff.

Round and round in circles.

I suppose I should try driving a Morgan or a Porsche.

My father in law did the opposite: He went from a +4SuperSport to a Chimaera.

I loved driving his Morgan with it's go-cart like handling & it was fairly quick with nearly 240hp/ton. However, the ride isn't a patch on a TVR, infact he changed the front suspension to suplex springs & it was still not great. The roof system is poor IMHO, in the wet you get wet from the front & side seals unless you drive really slowly. This was a 2012 car.. The Chimaera is just a much more modern design & believe it or not far more practical.

Having said that, I'd have one in the blink of an eye if I had the space & the £££££.

I have been around tvrs since 1990 ...love them ,the noise power , comfort and handling, I have owned four so far...with plans for another in a few years ....
best value sports car....
now I find myself driving morgans....
its a much different experience to tvr....
they are not as dynamic as a tvr...but its not pretending to be...
the 3 litre roadster is a great car , lots of power , 220 bhp ford v6 , 6 speed box...as quick as a 4 litre griff off the mark... surprised a few faster cars in one of those.... great b road blaster
the 3.7 engine roadster takes it up a notch,.. nearly 300 bhp , great noise , plenty of power and a lovely soundtrack.

my advice, find a friendly dealer , go along have a chat , and take in the experience...its fun.

biggest difference in my experience between the 2 cars,
in a tvr people ask how fast does it go
in a morgan they ask how old is it ! even in a brand new one .

I did consider going to a Morgan when I bought the Ultima, only I was thinking about a 3 wheeler. I think I need to take one for a test drive as I still have an itch that may need to be scratched at some point. The 4 wheeler versions hold less of an attraction with maybe the exception of the Aero8.

I am a TVR man no dought. I have a very quick Rover Tuscan that I like to think I can peddle. I have just come back from racing some top Morgans at Spa Summer Classic last weekend. How fast are they and boy can they be made to go round corners. I agree that they look old school but the top cars racing certainly have the making of my Tuscan sad to say, of course I don't know what they have under the bonnet but sorting the handling was no problem it seamed. More money to buy a proper sorted model than a TVR I expect. I would jump at the chance to test drive a V8
