RAF Marham track day
Discussion
I've done Marham with Qbee, great company, the raf boys are something to marvel at, and their all so Helpfull etc,
Great track layout,,,,, just don't do what I did and go flat out up the runway,,,,using another car for a toe, doh, pebble dashed my front end but hey it's really grippy and huge fun cos most of it is safe run off etc. highly recommended if you don't mind touching up the odd stone chip afterwards,
If I did it again I'd go slow as heck up that runway and just muller the twisty bits. Great day out

Just to clarify all the pebble-dashing comments, as they seem to be (correctly) saying, the bulk of the problem is the main runway.
It is coated with a grit finish, to help the planes take off and land, as Marham is an operational RAF base.
Despite the RAF vacuum cleaning the runway prior to the track day, there is always some loose grit, and this loose grit gets thrown at your car by other cars in front of you.
As far as I remember, from the 4 track days I have done there, the remainder of the lap is perimeter track and is less, or even not, gritty, so you will be somewhat safer following other cars there.
I'd love to say "not" gritty, but of course with 80 cars circulating, a certain amount of grit gets dropped on the peri track.
It ought to be possible to avoid the pebble-dashing by simply making sure you never follow anyone along the main runway. It must be 100 metres wide.....
However, for those with chassis pride it is still a big no-no. My newly installed and painted outriggers got well pebble-dashed by the grit thrown up by my tyres.
And for those who love their tyres, it will do a fair amount of damage to them too, so come along on your nearly worn out track tyres, not your brand new Toyo T1Rs.
Finally, after not taking proper care of my car at 4 track days at Marham, I now have about 1000 (not exaggerating) stone chips on the front of my car, and my windscreen is covered in loads of tiny stone chips.
It is a fantastic day, in aid of Military Charities, you will see some great cars and have a superb time, and it is one of the few opportunities to take your car to its top speed. a de-restricted M5 got up to 187mph on my first visit.
