The line he used was it would be irresponsible on a car capable of 200mph not to use those technologies. TC can be turned off he said and that allows you to sit at the traffic lights in a cloud of tyre smoke should you want to ..... that sounds like TVR to me wink

What it really means is that the kit that Wheeler was keen to fit so as to keep up with the modern world can now be installed by the new owner as it is cheaper, easier and he has the expertise unlike back in 2000.

Never sure whether PW's standard response to not being able to do something he wanted to do being 'cos it's gay' helped short term sales or not. wink

I missed the talk as I was talking to the Lloyd chaps about a Rangie biggrin

But I heard the remark about the chap who has ordered twice and cancelled twice. I Know who the twerp is but what is the logic in behaving like that?

Frankly he just seems to be highlighting the general belief that for TVR to succeed going forward he must be kept well and truly away and have nothing to do with it. Far too divisive and bitter.
Lets nip this in the bud !!!!

Initially I had a call from TVR and placed the £2500 deposit, 10 days later I was told my deposit wasn't acceptable because my membership had lapsed. Therefore I cancelled the £2500 on principle... Two weeks later I thought sod it, in for a penny in for a pound. So I place the 5k deposit. Several weeks later I'm constantly being informed Powers Performance are no longer able to supply parts to the trade and public. Basically TVR want Power to stop selling parts so they can cartel trade, this is why I cancelled a second time. So if you want to call me a twerp I can live with that, what I wont live with is our customers being dictated to whilst trying to corner the market.

Who's informing you, that you can't supply to the public Dom. Every manufacturer would like to some extent control the supply of parts, but there will always be secondary suppliers , nothing they can do about it. A similar example would be Hill engineering or DK engineering supplying the Ferrari community. I'm not sure where the notion of dictating the market is coming from, but don't think that is the case....

I think Les Edgar said once the design has been finalised and made public, you then have the chance to cancel your order if you don't like it but you will have to commit one way or the other and if you commit to purchasing the new TVR the deposit is non refundable

I understand why potential buyers placed their deposits, if the new car is awesome they won't miss the boat. What I don't understand is why TVR would offer the chance without having a car they could show. What if it looks like a pig and most pull their deposits, that won't make a great story in Auto Express. I imagine it will be designed with the aid of a wind tunnel and it will be like every other sports car, the exact opposite to what TVR was. I hope I am so wrong about this.

What a legend. I agree he comes across very genuine and someone who understands the brand. Everything he has said so far sounds very positive and seems very well thought through. I remember speaking to him at last years event when he was able to walk around pretty much unnoticed, the poor man was mobbed this year, I think at one stage he must have only moved a meter in two hours. I feel sorry for him when he gets collared by the some of the 'strange' TVR owners that the majority of us try and avoid.

Not sure it's fair to call TVRCC members strange, although you can normally spot them as they are not just content with rolling up in a Tiv they also wear the club T-Shirt in case anyone missed the car.
Looks like a good day, lovely weather for it too. Took the Cerb out yesterday and pondered in taking that far, sadly no, as it would have been 130 miles ew. I settled on a 50 mile local circuit, where I didn't spot anyone.....

LOL - Oi I am a TVRCC member! Yes I am strange but no I do not own a club shirt. A fair observation though and as someone else has pointed out you do have to be quite strange to own a TVR.

You should have come out to play, really good day out. 130 miles pah! I came from Southend which was a 334 mile round trip. Rake out your TVRCC shirt and come along next year wink

You should have a look at Blatters, as per Stig's post it is a site setup by the PH founder. It has a good TVR section on there. Also an interesting discussion on that post about the TVR announcement.

TVR owners come in all shapes and sizes. This member was talking a lot sense at my local meet last year.
