Looks like it could well be the gt350 unit, from
The cam cover bolts and plug apertures. They've done a good job showing very little.

Track Car? It will be fast but the company won't survive long if it departs from its more recent DNA and just creates a 75k track car tongue out Give it time smile I believe they are doing a Le Mans type car with a road version for us normal folk.

I thought that at first Dom but the cam cover bolts spacing to the dipstick aperture doesn't look quite the same. Dipstick should be between the second and third bolts counting from the rear...

In fact scrap that looks like the above is a funny angle/optical illusion. This shot has the spacing and the dip stick opening in the same place as the cam cover in the video.

Will be a shame if they don't use the voodoo unit...

You have to admire the snippets of information being released, building up this well of excitement

I like the comments posted below the Autocar article - a friend of a friend of a friend had a friend, whose friend knew of someone that owned a TVR...what was the question again?

Like other depositors (!) I got a nice personal email from Les this morning (below). Would have been even better if it had been sent yesterday morning!

"..............Dear All,

By way of a brief update, I thought you would like to have advance warning of some exciting news that is shortly going to break in Autocar and Motorsport magazine.

Steve Cropley met us at Cosworth a little while ago to witness the firing up of the pre-production version of our new engine on the dyno. It was a pretty seminal moment – all of those months of hard work culminating in a single button push! Needless to say it was very exciting, particularly as the dyno cell in question is capable of simulating various circuits around the world as part of its automated routine…needless to say, we chose Le Mans!

Without wishing to steal any of Steve’s thunder, we were all very impressed with the performance, particularly the torque characteristics and peak power of the test engine. Even without the correct exhaust system fitted, it sounded awesome – fire & brimstone! The lap time was pretty impressive too!

Having achieved most of what we need for the road car, we continue to build on the strengths of the base engine, heading towards our various milestones of track, one make series and Le Mans cars, refining the road car version alongside developing the race versions. Currently, the Le Mans regulations for 2017 and beyond are still in the melting pot but we hope to have clarity on these in the coming months. This will assist not only the race car effort, but also could determine some of the work we do on the LE car - it’s better to allow for as much as possible (without compromising the road car) than to change it just for the race effort.

There will be a number of aspects of our current progress revealed and discussed in the article, not least of which will be the source of the base engine…and more! We could, of course, have sent out an official update but we feel that one from an independent source would be better – warts and all, as with all that we do.

We imagine the on-line version of Autocar will be published in the early hours of Wednesday 7th and the printed publication should be on the shelves the same day we hope you get a chance to read it.

Very best wishes,

Les......."

Will the Coyote engine fit in a Chimaera or Griffith or Cerbera even?

At Neil Garner's open day, Les advised that the base engine will be built/configured to Le Mans spec' and then de-tuned for the road cars.

He went on to say that the car/chassis/drive-train will be future-proofed as much as possible to comply with current and any impending regs.

I understand that the powerplant and transmission is already running in a mule getting some miles/hours on the unit. Hot weather testing of the car is to take place in Southern Spain summer of 2017.
