This shows you what waxoyl can do if applied to a surface that wont flake off like powder coat. In tha case case of the Ginetta the factory put on a coat of black enamel- but failed to use any primer, so the paint was effectively so thin it could not form any flakes anyway, more scrated or scaped though to expose the bare metal that the wax sticks to quite happliy. These two chassis are the same age, (about 17 years) one having been sprayed from new.

Think that sums the positive use of waxoil up - if you want to use it, apply from new or after restoration/repair. Anything else is just covering up problems.
