+another 1. When another company quoted so much for the repair he drove down from the midlands to Zippee's area, collected the car, re quoted at a significantly lower price which made it economical to repair and stuck to that price. He was happy to provide a courtesy car (though the one I got was a bit crap). Once he had the car he then dealt direct with the insurance company. I did take a little longer than I had hoped though . . . whistle

Thank you all again for your advice, Chris Brown is giving first estimate and Mat Smith looking at mechanicals locally. Insurance assessor has used both on his own Tvrs before which to me is a good thing. Next step is to see what they say and what they find when they look at it closer next week. Thanks again for the help.

Sorry to see this and hope it is repaired.
Out of interest who is your insurance company?

I can vouch for Adrian too, I know he has his critics some of it justified but he did a great job on my Tam re-spray & re-trim. Just keep on top of him and get it documented what you are having done & you will be fine. I am in Beds if you want to have a look at mine. Zippee is even closer to you who I am sure would show you the excellent work S&D can do too.

Had similar incident in my Ginetta G33 car was worth about £15k and repairs cost £8k, but it was repaired. It took about 3 months, the whole car had to be taken back to base coat because it was hard to match the paint. It hit one of those tensioned wired barriers and it sort of cheese gartered the bonnet and even cut grooves in the windscreen

Work done:
smashed up bonnet repaired
new indicator
new headlight
new wheel
new hub upright
new steering rack
new wishbones
new front shocks
groves in screen polished out
Whole car stripped down to base and painted with (IIRC) 9 coats of paint then lacquer to match Ginetta original spec

(wishbones, hub, rack and wheel came from a G33 that had been rear ended so were used)

But, I wouldn't recommend the repairer there were a number of things that had to be sorted after he had finished. Paint quality was very good though
