DonkeyApple lad yes ive made my own bed and boy i sleep very very well.. its a simple question why wont Tvr show the real McCoy opposed to virtual designs altered 1 yr later with 10 profile tyres and cheesy wheels, maybe im missing something here.....
Dom
Because they won't be using a funding model like ford. I know through the grape vine that they have raised money in the city so there may be stipulations or obligations they have to meet before the next level of funding is released. Dom
This isn't just an engine upgrade you know

Ford gt are releasing there new car in 2017 why can't TVR do this in real format and not a virtual rendering designed by AutoCar...
Dom
Having said that, the side profile they've released is "ok" but personally I think they could go a bit more radical with the styling, it looks a bit too "same again", like an updated T350. I hope they go a bit more towards a wider, lower and altogether more aggressive look.
Do we know if the body is going to be steel panels or GRP?
It's just the AutoCar rendering but with horrible wheels.
As with all AutoCar renderings I doubt the real thing will look much like that.
I'm guessing TVR are not ready to show us how it will look yet.
Not sure why people are saying it looks good, it looks all out of proportion to me, the bonnet is too short, the roof line is too high and it doesn't flow into the rear properly, AutoCar never were any good at designing cars.
Even the two views done by AutoCar don't look like the same car.

ETA Unless they really haven't got anything solid as yet, and thought, st, we promised an update before the New Year and we have sweet FA, I know, let's use that Autocar rendering and draw in some silly wheels by someone who clearly hasn't gone to art school, that'll help keep 'em quit for a while...

Merry Christmas from all the Power Team
Well, I'm taking delivery of my new V8 Coyote Mustang tomorrow ....and I live in Northampton. I'm going to drive round and round the Cosworth site , wearing my TVR baseball cap and TVR shirt and 'my other car is a TVR (Tuscan) sticker' in the rear window ...and see if I can get thru' the gatehouse ..
I've also placed a deposit for the new TVR ...and like the style/content of the email updates from Les and TVR. Looking forward to the real car though ....
have fun
Matt

How can you ever compare Ford's resources to that of a new company starting from scratch and expect them to deliver a car in a real format. FMC's resources are vast not only when it comes to funding but also R&D, Marketing etc.
You can't, but both of them will need to go through most of the same design/test/build processes in order to bring a car to market, including whatever homologation method Les is planning to use. If FMC have a fully built, functioning mule that's already 99% finalised in terms of design, but they still need another year and a half until they feel comfortable launching it, then why would TVR be able to do it any quicker?
Certainly there are some advantages to being a smaller company, so you might think that it would take them less time to make changes/tweaks to the design but anyone involved with car manufacturing will be able to confirm that it doesn't take the mainstream manufacturers that long either, sometimes within 48hrs they'll have a different process or part on test, and signed off within a week.
Donkeyapples point about the iStream process is valid, in that it claims to offer vastly improved set up times, however my sceptical mind still thinks if it was that good, it would have already been used elsewhere, and the whole thing comes across as slightly dumbed down marketing aiming to show that you can have one base platform and build several models with it.
I can't think of any manufacturer that doesn't already do that. Even some MINIs share a platform with some BMWs in order to reduce complexity and investment costs.
For what it's worth, i like the grey rendering, and there are some obvious changes/improvements compared to the original orange autocar images.
