Guys, I 'need' to get some decent tyres for the Chimaera but the fronts are limited in most high performance tyres being of 225/35/18 in size. I have tried some 888's in 225/40/18 but they rub the arches very easily. Now I DON'T want to hack the arches about and was hoping for advice on a best alternative tyre on the size required, thanks.

225/35/18 they should be plenty sticky enough for driving to the local polishing suppliers

Looked at those but unfortunately they don't have the rear profile I want. Been reading good things about Uniroyal Rainsport 3 on TVR's [and they do both profiles; 225/35/18 front and 255/35/18 rear] anyone? ears

I'm just about to order tyres in the same sizes. Conti sport contact 5's seem a solid bet for road use. £500 fitted from black circles.

I seem to remember that 888s contact patch is very wide compared to many other identical size tyres.
I've recently changed from Eagle Assymetrics to Yoko AD08r and the fronts in 225/40 are a fair bit wider than the Eagles so you should be able to find a 225/40 tyre that works ok.
Where are you based? I still have my old eagles if you wanted them, the fronts have around 6mm left!

Thanks for the offer but, 225/40/18 don't fit well and rub the arches. I need 225/35/18 on front.
