I remember that article you wrote...to the moon and back in Sprint many years back.

I thought one was called 'The Silver Lady' ?

Do drop in some time to our workshop for a brew and catch up.

The last one has passed 11 MOTs with no advisories...can that be a record!? (although the fuel line did split on the last one, giving us all a big scare!)

I have to confess that these days if the weather is pants the TVR isn't always the first choice

I remember selling my first Tamora, before we went to live and work in Italy. At the time, I had no idea just how much I would miss that car. They are still as exciting and rewarding to drive now as they were 'back in the day'. I don't think we'll ever see their like again.

I note that car hasn't been taxed or MOT's since 2011.

Never mind, I have another!

I would love to get my wife a Chim one day - but she already has two cars, and from tomorrow, a company car!

Maybe it has a private plate on it?

Just tried using the original plate with my latest Tam, it says it cannot be found, so it must still have the original FE02BKK. Could have gone abroad, I guess..

Can you do that? I think if a private plate is put on a car the original is not re-issued. So, maybe your baby is still around

So...I did maybe 60,000 miles in that in 2 years & I fancied a change (big mistake!)

I give you the worst car ever made in the history of all car making ever
What was the issue, early warranty-fest dog or just didn't get on with the different dynamics to the Chim ?

Great story btw, I also ran my first TVR as a high-miler company car (Chim 400), spent more money in 3 years on upkeep than purchase given the main dealer philosophies at the time - 1st MOT was over £2k....

I had a snag list of 60+ items! Everything was faulty, even the windscreen. It broke down every time I went out in it. Eventually I sent it back on a low loader the day after it came back from the factory for the third time.

It cost £40,000 back in 02 and was an utter disgrace. What really did me was the attitude of TVR

I remember my Chim being in for a service when Tuscans had only been out about 6 months and they had a Tuscan up on the ramp. Chatting with service manager, he said it had over 100 seperate faults being done under warranty eek

That said, I love mine over 15 years later, they had done a much better job by 2004 when it was built biggrin

yes it was the final death knell of TVR, using their customers as test drivers whilst Boxsters, S2000 etc were all coming up on the rails.
