The last one has passed 11 MOTs with no advisories...can that be a record!? (although the fuel line did split on the last one, giving us all a big scare!)
I missed this. I call bullst - no TVR gets through an MOT without an advisory that the handbrake performance is 'minimal' biggrin

Fantastic story!

On about month 20 here - my poster cars were the tuscan and the sag so i started there. 18 months in a faultless tuscan mk1 loved it and miss it. 2 months in a Sagaris now and only been able to drive it for 6 days so far... issues all kind of resolved now!

Only with TVR's rolleyes

It's interesting to compare your experiences to my 19 years worth.
My first came in 1997 a 1983 Tasmin 280i used as a daily in Germany and Switzerland.

That was joined in 2003 by a 1993 Chimaera 400 that became my new daily.

In September 2006 I bought my first Tuscan. That was a 2000. Loved it for about 30 of the 34 miles I drove before it went off for a rebuild. That's when I learned the true meaning of patience.
The car was ready in Feb 2007, ran it in, drove to Germany and in March had to have it shipped back for more engine work.
After that it was amazing. Became my new daily until early 2009 when I wrapped it around a tree. I say wrapped but FRP doesn't do that well. frown

That led me in May the same year to my most wonderful 2006 Tuscan convertible. Smiles returned.

I did buy another Chimaera 400 in 2012 but that didn't work out.

And finally the Tuscan now has the company of a 1998 Cerbera 4,2. That's having a top end rebuild but already love it.

Fantastic read! thumbup

I'm another who has only made it to TVR ownership recently (back in July). Funnily enough though, the summer of 2006 was when I properly began looking at Chimaeras as my personal (attainable) holy grail of sports cars. I was 21, and my then car budget was less than half the entry-price for even the ropiest of examples- nonetheless I was determined to get one ASAP...

I wasn't anticipating it taking almost exactly 10 years (life and first-house buying getting in the way), but better late than never!

Maybe in another 10 years I'll have a garage for it hehe
