Professional detailing, is it worth it?

I'd expect this has been re-painted/repaired at some point, Looks like moisture in the paint, Or somethings going on with the gel coat which is letting the fibreglass breathe through,
Sand, seal, prime, paint, Or how about a big sticker on the affected area?? jk
Could a poor quality car cover also cause this?Sand, seal, prime, paint, Or how about a big sticker on the affected area?? jk

You're absolutely right, and the front of the car is in fact a completely different colour as can be seen from the second photo, where road rash means the car looks like it has measles.Sand, seal, prime, paint, Or how about a big sticker on the affected area?? jk
What surprised me is how the moisture affected area has grown considerably during my ownership.
Ideally I'd like a colour change, but that would cost more than I paid for the car.
Got round to doing my own today.
Massive Thanks to Warren and Topcats Racing as I did it while they gave my car a once over.
Very happy with the product (Permaseal) 2 stage application. I got the car washed yesterday so any flies I picked on en route today and couldn't clean off are now with me for 10years (thats how long the barrier lasts APPARENTLY).
To the tech my hand just slides off and removing anything picked up on way home was a doddle. applied to glass and wheels also.
Also must point out only tools I used was a bucket of warm water a leather, various micro fibre mitts and rags and PLENTY of ELBOW GREASE... not a power tool insight. I will next time use a buffing disc for ease of application but all in all Im so happy with results. Very therapeutic!!

I normally keep quiet but in this instance I think you need to know you've been duped big time. Permaseal is 99% marketing bks and 1% ok product. It won't last 10yrs (I know you already know this from your post anyway) but it does nothing that other products can't do better. The whole premise of how it works is pure nonsense!
Your car looks great but why not invest 30mins to get some professional advice. A lot of the detailing stuff can get way too serious but if you're going to look after your car then it needn't cost a fortune or need professional polishing and protection.
Sorry if that sounds harsh. I'd certainly be interested in whether it lasts more than 3 months with regular washing so maybe i'll have to eat my internet hat

Lol thanks for informing. But I do know this as from a sheer business sense it makes no odds (selling a product to a customer on 10yearly repeat business)? Liked how it was pitched to an extent and it is probably no better than anything else.
What I also took note of was thier "any reason not happy money back return" 10yrs??? shouldn't have told lies guys lol

^ either way your car looks good for as long as it lasts, and you get your money back later on!
I made the mistake of starting detailing when i had the Chim, and now it's an annoying habit Just finished a 2stage polish, and it shows how much the final result really is in the prep. Here's the car without any wax/sealant at all. Will finish over the weekend and post another pic up!
Hats off to the professionals that do it day in and day out as it can be incredibly frustrating, and physically hard work, for any owner that hasn't done it then i'd certainly agree it's a worthwhile treat for your car.

I've been there for the rear end of mine, top of both 'wings' as such and the boot lid needed sanding back to gel cote, re stabilised and painted etc. There was a repair in the middle of the boot and the car had been sprayed since TVR built it in the past, but the lacquer eventually sheeted off in chunks before I had it done. Been a few years and it has not returned yet. Cost the best part of a grand to have done.Always do mine myself, super resin polish or similar first with a coat of harleys wax over the top. I do not use the super resin polish often as it does seem to be a bit abrasive. The poor boys quick detailer is a good product for a quick shine up

I had mine polished and Swissvax Best Of Show 5 years ago, before a full coverage of paint protection film was applied - 12 layer process, so it's quite brittle. It was detailed by Roy Kunz at http://www.pro-valeting.co.uk/
The PPF keeps the original paint finish intact, and I only need to wash and wax the plastic film now, and I cant use any liquid waxes as the solvents will discolour or lift the edges of the film. 5 years on, it is still as pretty much good as the day it was repainted. I use Autoglym shampoo as and when it needs a wash and Dodo Juice Supernatural wax at teh start and end of the year.

Ran the car out today, while training the downpour came and I'm thinking GRRR not what I wanted. Back in the car thinking I'll just wipe clean when back in the garage... then the magic happened. Only a few squirts on the throttle home but I was noticing water flying off the nose onto and over the windscreen. Looked in mirrors and the same (water peeling off the sides) once in the garage at home the car is bone dry like its been wipe by a blow drier and still slippery to the touch!
A few water drops collected on the rear bumper lip. 1 wipe and gone.
Even if its only like that for a month I am impressed with the product in working form..... Then I'll be P******d and get my money back lol

I must admit that I thought I was pretty good at keeping my TVR's shiny.
Towards the end of last year though, under the harsh florescent lights in the garage, I noticed a number of scratches on my Sagaris that I just couldn't polish out. Having attended a session on detailing by Ian at Demon Finishers during Neil Garner's open day in September, I was impressed. So when my wife asked what I wanted for Christmas, I said the Sagaris detailed please!
Well I took the car to Ian just after Christmas and having been sceptical to some extent, I am now a believer.

Ian did a great job on my car, so give him a call if interested.
I just stumbled on this thread. I saw you in Tidworth Tesco's last week and wondered if you were a PH'er. Great looking car, would love to meet up and have a better look at it. Glad the Permaseal is at working well though and I think at the very least you've ended up with a decent enough product which may last a few months which is pretty much how long any normal coating would last anyway! extra bonus points if you can get a refund so it'd be interesting to hear what they say.
I started using Swissvax Shield on the Tuscan last year and referred to it as the magic self cleaning wax as it did exactly what you described, and the car sometimes looked better after a drive than before! It really does roll off the car quickly... boring vid alert:

I've just re-done mine with a show wax after seeing this photo of mine last year just after a similar wax was applied.
Downside is it'll only last a month or so but I find it quite therapeutic to clean the car anyway so i'm a happy bunny.

Love the picture of that gleaming Tuscan Chips!
Had to catch the bug as need to fill my time with a hobby outside of sport (which is work) at the moment I have to lift the boot in 3 attempts as it keeps slipping out of my hand when not focusing on what I'm doing lol
Gonna Permaseal the Range Rover too and hope for a nice summer.
