I liked car. The underfloor aero is very interesting, and depending on how well it works could be a big use.
I was a bit underwhelmed by the event though.
Was it enough to retain your deposit.

You mean it has to have more than 400 bhp ? Not sure i understand you correctly, but 400 bhp/ton is always 400 bhp/ton, no matter what the thing weighs. It's just that at 2240 pounds you need 400 bhp, at 2645 pounds you'll need 472 bhp, (1016 KG vs. 1200 KG, boy the imperial system is royally screwed), but power/weight ratio is always the same.

As to the other link: i'll definitely not look at the video, but i sincerely hope it is a joke.

The fact that you needed to be a deposit holder, or a guest of a deposit holders says its 50/50.
I am a deposit holder and have viewed and will let my deposit run....

Well obviously. I asked in q/a given that it has put on a bit of weight will the power to weight still be 400bhp/tonne and the answer was a bit vague. Though after, another TVR person said yes. I liked the styling, which had an engineering purpose. I'm very interested in finding out what the aero can achieve, this could make it unique in a car that is being produced new. Lots of positives about the car, bit underwhelmed about the event, had hoped to see a bit more of GMD side of things, could have been in a room anywhere. The car pretty much met my expectations. Hopefully sub 90, doesn't mean £89,995,
The group I was in were pretty much very positive about the car. And I will leave my deposit with TVR

Thanks for posting, I'm very much looking forward to seeing the graphics when they're released and congrats on seeing it through.. re deposit, are you still able to get it back, or are you locked in now? I capitulated a few months ago and got it back, but seemed like a great option to let it run and see what was presented on the day..

Sub 90 is less than i expected, but that's a good thing. One question though: will that be the consumer end-price or will there be VAT added ?

And is that for a base model with 'usually ordered' options on top?

Isn't everything about the LE which is supposed to have the bulk of the options included?

I'm sure that after the LE there will be none CF, none Cosworth models that will be notably cheaper and probably comprise the bulk of the sales.

Not sure, but the http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/tvr-sup... article states:

"a price below £90,000 for the full-house TVR launch edition"

http://www.dft.gov.uk/vca/vehicletype/ec-small-ser...

They are going for EC Small Series Type Approval, aren't they ? Am i right that that means max. 1000 Cars / Year ?

"The production limit for both cars and light vans / light trucks is 1000 per type each year in the whole of the EU."

I always had something like 2500 in the back of my head.

Not quite, you are talking ton, not tonne, so 400bhp/tonne is 400bhp/1000kg, but other than that, yes. It the car weighs 1250kg (2756lbs) you would need 500bhp.

Ah, tonne is metric ton and ton is imperial ton which is 1016 KG ? My calculations were referring to imperial ton and were omitting decimals and stuff. That's a great unit system you've gotten yourselves into whistle

Obviously whilst every interested person is aware of Gordon Murray`s involvement with the chassis, aero and engineering aspect of the new car,the F1,for my money, still sits as the zenith of road car achievement,is there one specific named stylist on the team who can replicate the invaluable input of a Peter Stevens and the purity of one persons concept...or is it to be a "group effort"?
