Why is that TVR enthusiasts are now trying to apply pressure on behalf of the company?
Its like you are all taking part in a game of LE's making. Why keep silent for a month, why not take photos.
Can someone please explain to me why all this keeping silent for a month till the autocar/press reveal is helping TVR in the slightest.
Its all like a teenager girls control fantasy. Its as depressing as going on the AstonMartin forum and having yet another poster make a quip about being 007 in their post. Its just not very adult.
I need to leave this thread and come back in a few months when sanity has returned, the car has been revealed and tested, and all this nonsense about special customers and secret reveals has been forgotten.
Uhh from what your describing, fantasists with no sense of belonging, that need to be part of something important with psuedo secrecy to play into the fantasy world. One can only hypothesise. Its like you are all taking part in a game of LE's making. Why keep silent for a month, why not take photos.

I recently experienced the secrecy thing, chatting to one chap (who I was very happy for) to see if he'd got his reveal date (since we last met) I was somewhat surprised when another fella suddenly interrupted the conversation, had a dig at the chap I was talking to because all this stuff is secret and he shouldn't be talking to people about it... In a 'he's not one of us kind of way'. It reminded me why I left the car club first time round.....

You'd like to think they wouldn't go to those lengths and that the group of fans who have voted with their wallets would respect their opportunity though. It would be sad if a TVR supporter couldn't, if only for the benefit of the others attending later reveals.
I think non deposit holders like myself will need to wait for the formal reveal. I hope.

I'm not a deposit holder, but I would LOVE to be, and I think the people who have been brave enough to enter into this project deserve to have this moment. I feel that 'tvr' should bring out the big kid in you, and that's why I'll always want another TVR.
I can't imagine how excited you guy's must be.

Couldn't disagree more. So sad you're leaving us (is that the sound of a major flounce I can hear?) Its like you are all taking part in a game of LE's making. Why keep silent for a month, why not take photos.

How do you sell something to someone who doesn't really need it? Tell em they can't have it! Maybe they're playing a blinder? As no matter how annoyed you lot or press get, bh and complain, everyone's still looking / checking / interested lol
The one I like is 'its typical TVR / the way its always been' etc.. Just after complaining they're not really TVR lol

I suppose the general public are unlikely to know of this (secret viewing) thing!
It does seem ridiculous to show something but knowone can talk about it.
I might not be a deposit holder but I do own a Tvr that I lpaid good money for,, so we Tvr owners have a vested interest as if this blows up where does it leave the mark. Thousands of us want this to succeed and rightly so and as a person who owns a real car with Tvr on the badge I think we should all be seeing this car,,,,at the same time.
Other than Tvr folk and people in the business who knows any of this.
This silly reveal is a thankyou for people who have backed this plan and that's fair enough,,, but a few deposit holders ain't a market share, the sooner this nonsense is finished and we (ALL) see a car the better.
So I've got a photographic memory, and an artist,,, joke what's stopping me drawing my version,, just get the car out there and let us all admire it.

I think it's more to do with the fact that they are showing it to deposit holders in groups and don't want the first groups to spoil it for the last ones. That seems common sense? Its like you are all taking part in a game of LE's making. Why keep silent for a month, why not take photos.

I'm assuming that they will go public with the images as the deposit holders walk out the last reveal. If they aren't planning that then I'm more inclined to agree with you.
The thing I don’t understand is why some people think a week of previews, under NDA, to those that have a placed deposits, plus most likely investors in the company, potential dealers and the press is unusual. In my experience this is quite normal before a public launch of any new product?

Exactly the point I was about to make - previews under NDA are hardly unusual ahead of a new product launch. If anything, the only difference here is that TVR are being unusually open about the fact that such previews are taking place. As for the idea that deposit holders should be free to distribute their own photos and post reviews straight away, would anyone seriously expect any mainstream car manufacturer to allow details of their new model to be leaked in such a haphazard fashion? As the saying goes, you only get one chance to make a first impression - if you were TVR, would you prefer the first images of your new car to come from a) a professional photoshoot under your editorial control, with the usual dramatic angles, lighting and backdrops, or b) amateur shots on smartphone cameras with dodgy instagram filters?

Yes personally I agree, even though I share the keenness of everyone to see it, but it isn't finished yet, no factory even! Personally I don't mind the ND Agreement as its still early days and these previews are actually common but usually kept much more secret as Englishman says. So I suggest it's a thoughtful privilege for TVR to invite those of us who've put money down to see a late model prototype, but also maybe a useful clinic for them to assess demand for final tweaks, options and burning questions - will an Eaton supercharger fit for the power-hungry?
How final is the styling of the reveal car going to be? Maybe they're testing the reaction of the guinea pigs. There are no full scale production facilities yet after all. As I understand it even if the hard points have been finalised, the istream chassis leaves plenty of scope for tweaking the shape based on feedback from the interested parties. Naturally they're hoping that everyone will be wowed but they might also be open to suggested improvements.

Not sure where, but i believe to have read that deposit holders will get a certain period after the reveal to actually exercise their "option" and place a binding order. And since this will mean real money there should be something that resembles a real car. So i expect a full-size model with close-to-final exterior and some flavors of interior. I don´t expect it to already feature any iStream-stuff or to be runnable or have an engine. If the plan actually is (which is only my uninformed guessing), to make a purchase decision based on what you see and learn during the reveal, i believe they will have to provide information on your build-slot, estimate date for delivery, optionals, info on homologation, pricing, LE-specials and pricing, perspective and roadmap for other models (convertible) etc. Que sera, sera.
But i'm actually very confident that everything will work out fine, although i would not be surprised by a few more, hopefully short, delays.

I'm more than happy to keep with the NDA - I'm out of the country the week of the first reveal and I simply don't want to know what anyone else thinks before I see it in the flesh. I don't want to pitch-up with any pre-conceived notion that it's got a big ass, small ass, too wide, too curvy, too edgey or whatever. So I'll be keeping out of all of the forums where folks may be offering opinions or posting dodgy photos.
A bit like wanting to watch a Grand Prix you've recorded on the telly, and the first thing you hear on the news when you turn the TV on is Driver Mc Drivey has just won the drivey grand prix. Spoils the whole experience - so I won't be [intentionally, at least] be reading comments before I see it on the second weekend, and I won't be posting up 'inside info' until the actual press reveal when everyone else sees it.
What would the non-deposit holder folks rather have - second hand opinions and maybe dodgy photos, or wait till a proper press reveal with all the info available and nicely staged pix to make your own mind up?
