I still have a TVR deposit and I guess we have until the end of Jan, for news, big news or some progress report.. But to be honest the fun, anticipation, excitement has completely gone. Sad really
Crikey, for you to say that is quite something, you have been totally positive in this thread throughout the launch.
I too have lost my initial excitement but I am hoping that as soon as the first couple of Griffiths roll off the production line and the motoring journos get to test them and we as deposit holders get to drive them for the first time then we will again be excited and eager to receive delivery.

If production is delayed until late 2020 or even into 2021 I think I will have lost interest totally and gone elsewhere. Is there a MK2 F type due anytime soon?

Actually just looked on Autotrader and an F Type SVR 2016 with under 10k miles, 567bhp, 0-60 3.5 seconds and 200 mph is just over £70k.

Could just save £20k.....

I have some news...

I have cancelled my deposit....

One day I hope to still buy the new Griffith but at the moment, after 3 1/2 years, my excitement has slowly drained away and with start of production now looking like 2020 I feel it's time to move on.

Maybe I will go for the supercharged convertible model in 2022!

Cheers guys, it is sad to do it but I am thinking one day I will have one but it will be the later perhaps revised version with more power and hopefully more aggressive styling.

I really do hope TVR get the new model off the production line and beyond the single model prototype stage where they seem to be stuck for 18 months.

For now I will have to enjoy my Camaro and Tuscan so life isn't to terrible lol

with people cancelling their orders, are there any LE cars available for deposit now ?? Just wondering........ scratchchin
My understanding is that TVR has a reserve list for the standard car and when someone cancels their LE deposit everyone below moves up one and someone at the top of the reserve list joins the bottom of the LE list.

Stu, sad to see you go, but i get your point. Hope your still showing up here once in a while. Remember, it was your pic on the first page of this thread that got me into this in the first place wink

I'm strongly expecting things to speed up over the next months and also have the progress communicated.

@bomb

Don't know if your speaking out of interest, but i think if you get in contact with someone who wants to return you might directly take his position in the queue. But this requires confirmation/consultation from/with TVR first !
Cheers bullit and yes of course, will keep popping in to see how the discussion is going. I hope TVR can deliver and have every intention of buying the new Griffith one day be it a new convertible or Targa.

Deposit returned to me within 6 working days. No quibble, no excuses. If they were in financial difficulty I dont think they would be handing back deposits quite so readily so I dont believe there is any reason for anyone to worry about if their deposit is safe or not.

As for me buying the new TVR....all I can say is one day I will....the convertible version with more aggressive styling and a supercharger giving 700 bhp!

You might want to wait for the mid engine corvette. It should be here pretty soon.
I am certainly monitoring progress of that. C8 Corvette, mid engined with 700 bhp. Yes please! Following cancellation of my deposit now looking at what to get next year and a McLaren 12c or a Audi R8 V10 (new shape) are certainly contenders and both for around £90k (used low mileage examples obviously)

I know it's not the actual car, but that back-end doesn't look right to me. Plus I don't want a mid-engined car.

But I am keeping tabs on the new Corvette as hopefully its launch may hit the second hand prices of the C7 Z06s out there. I'd be a bit gutted to buy a C7 and find the prices plummeted shortly after. Been plotting one since I got the deposit back (although a little voice keeps telling be 'you just need one car - go buy a TrackHawk'), but holding off until it's clearer what's happening with the new Corvette. Some rumours have the new car being launched along-side the current front-engined case as a different product line, keeping the front-engined cars there. Who knows...

but for sure I won't be driving a TVR in 2019, or 2020, or beyond...
The C7 Vette is a gorgeous looking car, far better than the Griffith. As you say, when the C8 is launched it may well push down the price of a Z06 which would be an amazing car to have. Did you see the latest Grand Tour? Features the C7 and the Track Hawk.

The TVR better be good coz i am loving this and its soon due out with a manual box
very nice indeed although the front end lights look too MX5 for me. Not that there is anything wrong with the look of the MX5 either mind you. Bold colour choice too. The bugs and flies will love it lol. Good luck to you though, cracking car.

Didn't see it - too much of a cheapskate to pay for Amazon prime. I wonder if I can track it down somewhere on line, as the TrackHawk is choice number 2! I'm still pretty much focussed on the C6 Z06...but my daily is a Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi, and I was going to upgrade to an SRT at some point. But this little voice says why not forget the whole idea of a daily do-everything go-anywhere car plus another sports car, and just get a single car...and the TrackHawk fits that bill!
This is my "other" car which is why the Corvette would be of interest. Must say, I have owned many sports cars and this one is one of the most impressive!

Sad to see there is no further news or progress on the new car.

Still, at least I have the joy of my other TVR...

Ha no offence taken. There's nothing subtle about a TVR Tuscan so may as well have a loud colour to go with the loud car lol
