New TVR still under wraps!

er, i don't think anyone will be even slightly surprised. No one, and i mean no one, not even GMD, take a brand new platform to volume in less than 2 years, even more so when starting completely from scratch........
Also, why not tell the press? They'll find out, and then you'll look stupid. Tell the truth, that's all you can do, imo.
I think this is pretty much it. The question is just how long will it take to get to volume, or even a demonstrator. Im guessing this is still probably 18 months away. Also, why not tell the press? They'll find out, and then you'll look stupid. Tell the truth, that's all you can do, imo.

I emailed TVR - and
"Another update will be given 'very shortly’ which as usual will be sent directly to those who have placed deposits before anyone else."
so we shall see.
You remember them taking the Autocar draft of a new TVR? Maybe they use thecook101's draft of an update as well! "Another update will be given 'very shortly’ which as usual will be sent directly to those who have placed deposits before anyone else."
so we shall see.

Looks like they can save a few quid on painting the place as the colours look right!
Am I the first Tvr owner to visit the new factory,, it's a run down mess with broken glass and what looks like fire damage to the building, it's still under offer so nothing official by the looks of it. The pic above has been doctored!
Taking the piss!
Here it is in its full glory, looks like it's been abandoned for some years and will need a lot of work to come upto what you'd expect a high class car plant to look like.
I've been visiting family and realised I drive straight past this site so couldn't resist but to go and find it.
The heads of the Valleys road is going through some serious civil engineering and must be costing a small fortune so that's a very good sign, but that was euro money, when the Brit government takes over the poor place will be starved again,, just like up north!!!!!
I actually went to the factory to apply for a job it'll be some time before this site can be up and running,, I sneaked a look inside the office buildings,, like a bomb went off and they left in a hurry, I'm not sure if this was vandalism but office equipment and all sorts have just been left there and it's a right old mess, wiring hanging out all over the place etc etc etc
Nothing a good clean up won't sort but it looks far from being ready to build cars in, if this really is the new factory then I can't wait to see it happen.

Top spying!
Well as soon as I looked at the pic with purple guttering I thought hey it's happening, thought Les might be in his big office, hahaha but alas I was nieve
I'd looked it up on google so had a good idea where it was and you can actually see part of the building from the A465.
It's clearly got potential and plenty of unused land around and behind it so plenty of scope to expand.
It's always sad to see these units derelict and quite depressing, I'm not a deposit holder or even likely to afford a new Tvr but we all want to see the company do well and I was there standing imagining a busy place with cars and materials being worked, seeing just how poor the area is, if this happens I think the locals will be right up for it.
Good luck to the new Tvr company and maybe the choice of area might be a stroke of genius.

I understand what you mean but it hasn't been photoshopped or anything. It's a screen grab from Google Maps so is direct from the satellite! See here
How did it become purple when it's actually blue, someone's very clever or owns google maps, Les must be a powerful man Sorry I wasn't suggesting you'd doctored it but clearly someone has.
The lengths people go to to create a myth /reality,
I'm sorry but that's mis leading the public,,, not that anyone other than me probably cares or it even matters.
This Tvr thing is all a bit weird. The building does not look like the pic, the earth works are not there as far as I could see, maybe there's planning permission and plans for all this but to use google maps to perpetrate a myth seems extreme
The pic shows no gates etc, it has gates, rusting into the Ground but there still there and nothing's been touched for years by the corrosion and general state of the place. It's still got equipment lying around from the previous company, junk.
It doesn't really matter as long as it all comes to pass.
To doctor an image to convince people there's something happening when the building is deserted and clearly still unused is a bit pathetic, if this is related to the company it suggests desperation,
Who the hell has done this, it's wrong.
Peoples money is tied up in this project, I'd be scrutinising every single word the investors are saying.
How long ago was it you all looked at a blanket that's supposed to be a car,, what a bloody joke that was,
Insults the intelligence.
Men in suits are the biggest crooks, someone needs to pin down a few of these people and really find out what's going on.
Just sitting here waiting for answers ain't going to do you any favours, someone start chasing these big wigs and see if this is just a publicity stunt, I wasted my petrol going there
Pinch of salt Les, I feel my legs might be in danger of being broken if I delve any further
No news is bad news.
I'm just playing devils advocate as I've got as much hope as anybody that this is going to happen.
If this helps to get investors on board then great but what Chinese man will look at an image and offer his millions based on that, don't make sense to me but then I'm not a rich man and that might be one of the reasons.
If you can't dazzle em with diamonds
Baffle em with bullst

Aren't these satellite images... So the image and particularly the colours captured are affected by the angle of the sun, the amount of pollution and particulates in the atmosphere, there's an endless list of variables that could change the warmth or coolness of those colours before you even get to the way the device is capturing the image. Sorry I wasn't suggesting you'd doctored it but clearly someone has.

Indeed and can be many years old as a result. Looks to me that the main road (designated A465 if you zoom in) hadn't been built when this was taken.Gassing Station | General TVR Stuff & Gossip | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
