Hethal was great, those swooping bends at great speed.

I felt quite quick in the morning but in the afternoon, confidence and knowledge of the track payed dividends and the old Chim was flying, ( well, I thought it was).

If people can book up the September slot at Hethal then they will find it is well worth it. The surface of the track is 2nd to none and the organisers were extremely good. All in all a perfect day even though we started late.

Did you ever do Cadwell park on the bike?
It's an awesome car track, in my opinion, and not as abrasive as Rockingham. Amnd whilst a right hand circuit, there are enough left handers to keep the tyre temps even, as well as enough bends and hills to keep you interested.
Here's what it looks like from another fast MX5 madfurious:

On the tyre front, R888s, Yoko A048s or AD08s, Federal 595 RSRs, Dunlop DZ03s, Michelin Pilot Cups.
All pretty good, prices vary from under £300 a set to over £1000.
It's not about having racing slicks, it's about having fun, so your tyres need to do the job without necessarily being the best

My Absolute favourite although Assen comes pretty close.
We used to hire cadwell for 3 days every year (Ducati Sporting club),raced there as well a real 'Mini Ring" if ever there was one.
Never done it in a car but that will soon change!

It's just great to hear of another Tvr being driven by the scruff of its neck.
Good on you Butch. thumbup
The Chap running the event said that without doubt it was the nicest car there and it was good to see an owner that wasn't precious with it (it is a very nice car though but life is far too short!)

Rockingham is a very abrasive surface, it kills tyres.
That's a shame to hear... I'll soon be heading there for my 1st ever noise test to see if I can track (could have issues)? Once I do get that right I'll be exploring track days found a supplier of 595s RSRs for 360 a set of 18s that good?

This August (birthday) I think I'll be getting a helmet to add to my race suit... I'll also be going for the Eibach rates you recommended wink so do keep me in the loop with TDs

The Bucks group haven't got together for a while? Remember to get your water cap dipped so we don't get anymore fluid cross contamination ;P

Catch you soon mate
