Could you be a bit more specific about where the articles are on facebook please? I couldn't find the Tuscan page you're referring to.
The 'TVR Tuscan owners & enthusiasts' group. It was a topic there a few weeks ago now.

Oh, and make the lights go out when you take the key out... Would've saved me another call to the Dutch AA equivalents the other week while at my Dad's... redface

Had this fitted to the Cerb last week and on testing while at the garage it's fantastic for a fiver! I've slowly brought the Cerb right into the modern day lol

Yeah, that's the obvious solution but I've got a bugbear about stuff that beeps, buzzes or yells at you when for no extra engineering effort, it could have solved the 'problem' by itself.

I always had the dipped beams on in my old Saab (pre-DRLs) Take the key out of the ignition - lights off, ignition on - lights on. Why does it have to be any more complicated than that...

My MG beeps at me when I leave the lights on, yet shuts them off after a minute or so anyway - WTF?

Hahahaha I see your point. The TVR turns them off too. It will leave them on for an hour then turn them off (with all other electronics) once the battery is dead lol ;P

My guess would be its the constant need for a current weather it's to open the door or charge the battery through the lighter/12v socket? That's just my novice thought but I'm all for the buzzer

It would be rather more useful to wire up the 'low coolant' sensor that is already present in the Audi expansion tank. I really cannot think why anyone would consider the extra manufaruring cost a waste (what would that be - a tenner?)

Trouble is with you kids.... wink ...you just can't survive without all these warning lights, can you! laugh
There is no substitute for lifting the bonnet once a week and actually checking the oil, water, brake fluid etc levels with the eyeballs. Every car handbook advises this. Truth is, you become reliant on these 'idiot lights' (no offence intended), hence stop physically checking, and believe that all is fine and dandy under the bonnet because no warning lights are on. Well, sorry to disappoint, but these systems are not infallible, and the worst culprits are float based level switches.
We knew that the plot had been irrevocably lost back in 1980.... when the Mk111 Escort was launched with, of all things, a low screen-wash indicator rage That was probably the only thing that some people bothered opening the bonnet for, and now even that need had been removed. God help us.
I think the lack of a low coolant warning was not a fiscal decision, but rather was totally in keeping with the absence of superfluous driving aids on TVRs.

Yep, must admit, that IS an odd one, isn't it! Can only imagine that PW once got caught out by ice in August! biglaugh

Thats easier done than you think... Ever been out on a crisp, bright morning? Air is clean and the engine on instant song... Just remember it was a freezing night lads or that hedge will be a lot closer than you think wink Never hit a hedge thankfully as Ive always had my ice detector to let me know to go very carefully lol

I have to admit I was incredibly disappointed with that feature. The main section about the engine is lent credibility by the pictures they obtained from the mule's recent showing at Millbrook but apart from that it's all stuff we already knew.

There's nothing in there from Murray that wasn't already known from reading Autocar and the Murray piece that the Goodwood Website posted a few months back, so I doubt they actually have sat down with him to talk about this otherwise it wouldn't be the same regurgitated stuff. Also the piece with Ben sounds like a load of old soundbites, and with all due respect to Ben the present TVR is so removed from the one he worked at, his opinion about the new car is only as valid as anyone reading this as he's not involved as far as I'm aware and as such he knows no more than we do.

Lazy, bandwagon jumping journalism as far as I can see with no mention of the real reason they had been invited to Millbrook which was a small Cerbera only event organised by Nick Fisher, supported by the TVRCC celebrating 20 years of the first customer Cerberas.

PS

The iStream concept being utilised on the new TVR just sounds like a more modern/refined version of the original T440/Typhon construction process designed by TVR's lead project engineer nearly 20 years ago.
