Slight aside, but as a new TVR owner, would you recommend I join the TVR Car Club?

You will get mixed reviews on here Frenchy, some loath how the TVRCC is run and carries out its business, but most of these people are not willing to stand up to the plate and get involved.

Others are open minded and use the club for its great offers on racing events like LE man's and Silverstone classic to name a few, and reduced ticket prices for the NEC car shows. Most regions have monthly events both for the car polishers and field sitters amongst us, and the driving holidays which are popular. If your purely a track day driver and nothing else then the TVRCC is not for you .

At the end of the day, Its a good mag and the club discount on insurance companies alone means its totally "Free" so no downside smile

I enjoy reading the monthly magazine so for me that is worth the subscription alone. The quality is excellent compared to other clubs I have been a member of in the past.

Slightly biased opinion ...... Join the Club.

I think that Sprint alone is worth the membership.
If you don't like the TVR Committe and their approach to organising events, don't get involved, just enjoy the camaraderie of local like minded TVR enthusiast.
Some of the attending members only see each other at each monthly meet. This often gives people the chance to say that the TVRCC is a Clique or Closed Shop, far from it.
We try to generate a 'Group or Couples' culture, not just a bunch of blokes in a car park, tyre kicking.
We may not always succeed but we all love our TVR's.

Ok, you've convinced me biggrin

Is there a Midlands region? Having a quick look on the TVR Events & Meetings sub forum on here I can see threads running for many areas of the country but none that appear midlands.

I'm from the Warwickshire West Midlands region and has been said it's every 3rd Sunday meeting at the Bulls Head in Meriden https://www.thebullsheadmeriden.co.uk/content/pcdg...

Can be anything from 30-50 cars depending on the weather or other events being attended. Lots of convoy drive outs organized, one this Sunday around the Cotswolds with 16 cars at the moment.

My Sprint arrived yesterday and as always some good articles and some great pictures.

Be aware that the TVRCC East Mids monthly meeting is not at the normal venue this month. A meeting is being held at James Aggers garage from 10am, with a run around the local area starting at 11am for the TVRCC drive-it-day, and then tour of a local brewery at lunchtime. Details on the TVRCC website or here if you are not a member

Paul, do come along on Sunday.
I was made most welcome both before and after I became a member, and was never asked if I was a member or not.
Just having a TVR was enough. Hope to meet you on Sunday.

Just chatting with Mrs B and asked if this months sprint has arrived yet and got told I hadn't renewed my membership yet! Gues that mean I haven't done something I was supposed to that isn't TVR related...

Well it's been a very warm welcome on here, so bodes well for the club and meets beer

Unfortunately I can't make this Sunday plus I don't have the TVR up here until next weekend as it's at my parents whilst I was having a new garage built.

Looking forward to the next one though!

Also endorse most of the comments. Personally I enjoy many of the club events, the regional meets, the TVR Sprint racing days (as a spectator), Sprint magazine is excellent but also given the amount I've spent on parts over the last year getting my 390SE up and running, the TVR Parts discount alone covers the cost of club membership. Not everyone's cup of tea but it is mine. The 50th weekend was truly awesome.

The best thing about joining the club is the local members and activities and it's a god place to find out about them and others in other regions. The magazine is good, discounts on insurance used to be something but now insurance is generally cheaper elsewhere. Good merchandise.
Some of those in senior positions assume a superior manner, but the pros far outway the cons.

As for the Mag - an article on a trip from this time last year?

Hi Paul…
The S Club boys had a few issues with getting the photos, so they didn't arrive with us till April/May 2016… so we’ve tried to slot this in as soon as poss around everything else we had planned in, without overdoing the road trip type of article - as we had a Spa Trip in the April Issue, and 2 TVRs in France in the May issue. In an ideal world, we’d of loved to have printed it sooner. Glen had done a great job with the text, so it was a shame not to print it.

I hope that answers your question

Cheers Jon
