Just bought this........

Taking delivery next week, it was advertised as a J1, however I think it may be a J2. Can anyone confirm? Colour is Wine Red, I thought this was only available for the J2's?

Me too. Check the frame number:

ZXR750 J1 (ZX750J1): January 1991 to December 1991. Frame number started: ZX750J-000001-.
Available in green/blue/white or blue gitane.
Cost new (in the UK): £6379

ZXR750 J2 (ZX750J2): January 1992 to November 1992. Frame number started: ZX750J-013901-.
Same as the ZXR750 J1 model but with minor suspension modifications and a softer rear shock.
Available in green/blue/white or wine red

That's what I thought. Not that fussed, however the rear end was supposed to have been sorted on the J2. Hopefully getting delivered to me next Saturday (it's like waiting for Christmas to come!) - I'll check the frame numbers then and post a few more pics.

Can't really help on the model specifications, but wanted to say that's a great looking bike, I've always liked ZXR 750s, still might get my own one day!!.

It's a fab looking bike.

The J1 was rock hard at the back so having a J2 should help. But the suspension will probably need a refresh or at least checking over. Has it done many miles?

Had a Green/White/Blue J1 back in the day & my boss at the time bought a Blue one. Mine replaced my H1, it felt tiny & light compared to it's predecessor but was sadly down on power. Looked the part & John Reynolds was winning everything on the race version (K1). However the Fireblade came out the following year & my Kawasaki ZXR riding days were numbered

The Blue J1 was my dream bike back in the day, I had my Z400 resprayed in the same colour in homage to it!

This bike has only done 10k and was too good to let go.......I'm a total sucker for the hoover tubes.

So the bike arrived today, really happy with it. Went out for a quick run and realised that I'll need to take up yoga to get into the racing crouch position......

1st on the list is to respray the hugger black. Also looking for an original end can, don't suppose any of you PHers have one gathering dust in the garage? Once that's done it will be back to 100% original, not many about these days.

That's a nice find especially in a sensible colour scheme rather than the usual period "shell suit" colour schemes.

Personally I'd scrap the aftermarket hugger and just fit an original chain guard.
