My First Hot Hatch - Suzuki Swift Sport
Discussion
Hi all,
This month saw the purchase of my new car, a 2014 Suzuki Swift Sport. I am now 18 and decided to sell my Toyota Aygo for something that had a bit more POWER! I bought the car from a dealership in Telford. I really wanted the car in boost blue metallic as I think it is the best colour. I saw this one for sale, that was within my price range, so I went to look at it and was near perfect so I bought it!
Anyway here are the pictures:
I absolutely love the car. Their is enough power when you need it and feels a lot quicker than what the numbers suggest. It has a brilliant chassis meaning virtually no body roll, and fantastic handling.
The only mod I have fitted is a K&N air filter. I don't have any further mods planned for it due to the warranty however, I may look into an induction kit or a different exhaust later down the line. For now though, I'm just going to enjoy the car, with a trip to wales definitely on the cards.
Thanks for looking.

I've always been a bit confused by Swifts.
About 10 years back I was at the local Suzuki dealership when their first delivery of the then new Swift.
I was blown away by what a good looking car they were and thought they would sell like hot cakes, but you don't see that many of them.
The Swift sports seem to be very rare. Only ever seen 3 I think.
My sister changed her car recently and I tried to get her into a Swift. Had to be a Golf apparently.
Lovely looking car mate. I really like the sport and the colour suits it really well.
It's a shame they've never done a proper nuts version.

Looks great! I bought my Swift Sport in April, absolutely loving life with it. Like you, I set out for a boost blue but couldn't find any of the right age/miles/price at the time, so settled for black!
I've also got a K&N filter arriving soon for it, but I've had a look at the manual and I can't work out how to fit it (bear in mind I have less than zero mechanical knowledge/ability!) - is it easy to fit?

I wouldn't say easy! You have to remove the screws you see and remove the clips at the back of the engine cover and slowly work it off.I've also got a K&N filter arriving soon for it, but I've had a look at the manual and I can't work out how to fit it (bear in mind I have less than zero mechanical knowledge/ability!) - is it easy to fit?
I've always liked these cars. I think they are a good warm hatch and a car you can drive the wheels off without worrying too much at smashing speed limits.
In some ways, I prefer these cars to much faster cars. I have a 357bhp Impreza but the performance is fairly useless if you want to keep your driving license because once you're on it, you just smash speed limits so the amount of time spent under hard acceleration is minimal. With these cars you can spend far longer driving them harder without getting to silly speeds which in my mind equals more fun time! I remember driving (a much slower) 106 1.1 with skinny tires and it was a whole lot of fun because you really had to think about maximizing speed on exiting corners and because grip levels were much lower you could play with it on the limit.
One question though, why the K&N air filter?

I think it gives them a slightly throatier induction noise. Nice car by the way. It reminds me of when I was your age and I got my saxo VTR, was fresh from Citroen's showroom.
