Tansferring text messages from andriod mobile phone to PC

Probably a very basic question for the tech savvy but can somebody please tell me the best and most straightforward way to transfer text messages from an android mobile phone to a PC.

Have tried google and there seem to be a vast number of programmes that can be downloaded that apparently do the job. However, no idea which one is best.

Any guidance much appreciated.

I used this in the past and liked it because it was simple to setup and created a new group in your Gmail which contained all of your SMS. Not used it in over a year now though, so not sure how recent versions are doing, but it used to be quick, simple, and reliable...

I have two email accounts. On the phone with gmail I copy and past the text into an email to myself which I read on the PC.

You don't even need two accounts; you can send a G-mail to yourself.
