I ordered a door handle for my V8s from the TVR web page yesterday, initially i was very impressed as it arrived this afternoon.

Having opened the packaging all i can say is diabolical! The handle in the add shows the TVR logo, the handle delivered has no logo, the chrome is pitted and corroded, the steel plates on the back are rusty.

It actually looks like a used item.

At over £100 this really is a poor show!
Rant over.

A few pics for your perusal.

Wow, that is extremely poor. How TVR could even package these up and send them out is beyond me.

I assume you contacted TVR Parts before posting on here?

What was their response?

That's pretty awful...more like eBay... Still give them a chance to sort their possible mistake out...very disappointing though ,it obviously it didn't go thro' any form of quality control or even someone with the ability to see.

I did call them yes, to be honest they were very flippant.

When I asked why the logo was missing the response was " they didn't all have that". This I understand, but don't advertise them with the logo if you don't stock them.
When I complained about its condition the reply was " they were made many years ago". Again I understand this but surely quality control should dictate what is released to the customer.
I used TVR parts because I expected the parts to be as new, I guess that was naive on my behalf.

I thought perhaps they had learnt from times gone by, let's hope they get it together and fast.

I'm getting Glassman to sort my windscreen on the Tuscan and they have apparently told him that they don't deliver "until there's enough orders to put them all on one van"... yep great customer service!

Anyone know other suppliers with genuine quality windscreens?

Very interesting Daz and exactly the same experience I had when I got my rear drilled Cerb discs from them. They sold them as an alternative to the expensive original and made to the same high standards. They DID NOT state however the handbrake adjuster must be drilled for them to fit. The shock I got when the fitting bill eat any cost saving due to the amending that was needed! When I called I got a blunt response oh well at least we support the cars and you can't expect us to label every item. In short... I won't be using them again!

Wasn't tall this old stuff the bits from David Gerald or multipart. They've essentially taken it in stock and sold it like one of the other retailers would. You'd be getting the same thing.

Did you ask if this is the last one, if not you may be able to ask them to have a look for a better one. I've been to their old place and it wasn't some pissy shelving behind a counter it's a large warehouse.

Hi Darren

My experience with TVR Parts has been mixed over the years.

I'd liken them to the only restaurant in a busy area that simply benefits from high footfall.

Unfortunately.

I hope you get the part you want.

If it is a Chinese pattern part, like all the cheap copies coming through with LUCAS branded parts at the moment it would probably fail in afew weeks smile

Should have bought these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TVR-3000-S-Wedge-chrome-...

They come up on e bay from time to time usually without the TVR Logo
Certainly looks like a rather used part or stored in a damp barn

Consumer Contracts Regulations should be your friend, IMO clearly a used part, not even a good used part at that.

My experience of the old RG dept. and the new company too. Was hoping things would improve under new management but they haven't. Needs new leadership IMHO, something Les can sort out I'm hoping.
