We have done the trip on a number of occasions, and much of the enjoyment is actually planning the route. Call in at Mullhouse and have a full day in the museum there - its well worth a stop, to see the hundreds of cars there ( largest collection of Bugatti cars).
We have used ferries from Newcastle and Hull to get over to the continent and also used the Chunnel a good few years ago. 300 miles per day is OK but sometimes you want to do less miles and explore the local towns / areas. Its all dependant upon your time scale of course.
enjoy your trip.

If you head to Givet (It's the pretty town that is on the end of the penis shaped bit of France thrusting into the anus of Belgium) you then get a nice run of roads down to Baden-Baden the following day. Then the 500 takes you all the way through the Black Forest and some of the best roads you'll ever drive in a TVR down to Waldshut Tiengen. You then get some great roads to Lucerne and bang into Lake Como on the motorway.
This was about 20 miles past Baden and it just keeps on like this all the way. The 500 is a must for any TVR owner. It's as if it was made for our cars.

Definitely! We had five nights in Varenna on our way to Venice last year. Hotel was found through trip adv after deciding where aboutsish we needed to stay. Absolutely loved Bellagio/Menaggio/Varenna.Gassing Station | General TVR Stuff & Gossip | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
