Reading some of the above posts i think a lot of you are going to be disappointed.
The days of the raw analogue sports car are all but gone unfortunately.
Caterham? Perhaps the "sportiest" factory-made sports car.The days of the raw analogue sports car are all but gone unfortunately.
Cannot see what the fuss about a "START" button is. After all it's really old fashioned. The original Mini had one on the floor and my 1958 Ford Prefect had a pull starter in the centre of the dash board. Then we got modern and had a key that did it all. Turned on the ignition and started the engine
Somehow I fear the new TVR will end up looking like something from a Star Wars movie and therefore be of little interest to me at least. As it will be all angular and lacking in curves and so style.

for me its a nod to the race cars with the red toggle and start button...its the little child coming out in me...its what TVR is all about Somehow I fear the new TVR will end up looking like something from a Star Wars movie and therefore be of little interest to me at least. As for your last comment on shape, go take another look at the pics of the covered buck that was displayed at the London motor show...i think its going to look more like an Aston Martin than a star fighter

Had a button start on my Lotus 7... in 1969.. The F Type Jag has one, the Audi R8 has one, The Aventador has one, The Tesla model S has one. Oh, and the 2016 McLaren 650s has one.... And, er, my Aston has one
Old fashioned? certainly, they've been around for years, but then you could say a light weight two seater RWD sports car with a big V8 in the front is also 'old fashioned'
You either get it or you don't...
With the exception of "keyless" cars I find start buttons daft.
Place key in ignition
turn key
move hand from key
locate randomly positioned start button
press button
how is that better than
Place key in ignition
turn key
turn key a quarter of a turn more?
Keyless......I am still reserving judgement on those systems, but two colleagues to date have managed to drive over 50 miles without having their key with them

I thought this thread was what stuff would you hate to see, not what other PH'ers thoughts you find daft... And I don't believe anyone said that a button start 'is better than..' It's a personal preference, like I said, you either get it or you don't.Place key in ignition

I'm not familiar with other TVRs, but the Cerb is Keyless, just a Fob and a Start button.Place key in ignition
turn key
move hand from key
locate randomly positioned start button
press button

(There is the so called 'Silver Key' ignition isolator, but most people simply ignore/remove/bypass it)

Well obviously I don't get it and further more don't see the point of a seperate start button .............................. not in a car. What next a set of racing coveralls to complete the wanna be racer look?Had a button start on my Lotus 7... in 1969.. As it's shape is pure speculation still I do fear it will be rather futuristic and that could very well be a repeat of the Jaguar 220 fiasco.
