Hi all,
I'm looking to have my TVR repainted (same colour) and the mk2 conversion carried out to the rear (to match the mk2 front).
I also want to have all new carpets fitted and a new roof. I would like it all carried out at the same time (to save removing and refitting the roof) but it's not absolutely necessary.
Any recommendations or comments gratefully received. I'm based in Hampshire on the south coast but I can travel to the right place.
Many thanks,
Dan

Dan,
Two places I would recommend local to you:
1) Classic Restore in Eastleigh. Phil van Nyvel(sp?) had his Chim resprayed by them and was very pleased. I had them do my grill/splitter/service bonnet repair on my Tuscan. Graham, the guv'nor is very experienced.
2) Ross-Packard in New Milton....my contact is through Meridian-Modena but I've seen Elans and a TVR 3000 in there as well.
For trim, I'd use Wessex Trimmers just off Bedford Place in Soton, small workshop but owner is very honest and good to deal with...Lots of pictures of his work in the workshop.

Central TVR could do all the jobs you are looking at under one roof. I've had a few things done by Adrian and his team and all have been just as I wanted them.

+1 top body shop and trimmers all in one..http://www.centraltvr.com/#
I 've used Central in the past for bodywork, been pleased with the service received, had some issues, but they were all rectified to my satisfaction, better experience than other places I have used closer to London.
I also had the seats re-done by http://www.thetrimtechnician.com/ similar location to s + d (blackpool), has ex factory guys, but i found the diary matched my needs and the costs were very very good (£200 a seat) did it over a weekend whilst i took the wife to a spa hotel. Cath really friendly, took loads of pics of carpets etc whilst out the car and said they were in ok condition no need for remedial work, very impressed with them tbh.

I’ve so far had quoted from Central TVR, and another quote from Surface & Design & DC Trim.
Central were a bit cheaper, but I do hear good things about S&D.
I still can’t decide whether to stick with blue, or go all out and paint it yellow. I really do love yellow!
Definitely yellow! You know you want to. Central were a bit cheaper, but I do hear good things about S&D.

That does surprise me that S&D were only slightly more expensive. As a lot of people are put off paying the extra money they supposedly they charge. I would say it's their expertise along of having a combined age of probably about 200years experience in painting TVR's , you just can't bottle that and sell it on, it's priceless.Central were a bit cheaper, but I do hear good things about S&D.

Lee worked at the TVR Factory and did The White Elephant 'finishing work'
Well worth a call as his craftsmanship is second to none.
If you are going to Blackpool he is based in Cleveleys.
