V6 280i, I'm confused on which are the intake and which are the exhaust rockers. Must be getting old because I've had this since 1986 and I've adjusted the valves before but I'm lost now. The bible and workshop manual are both no help. There is still a foot of snow outside the garage so I've got time but was bored on a Saterday afternoon and wanted to tackle a project. I got the valve covers off and stood there like an idiot not knowing which was which. Thanks for the help.

You're confused because it's confusing smile The order is reversed on some of the cylinders. Can you get hold of a Haynes manual for the Granada? If not I'll try and do you a picture of the order.

For the most part you can eyeball which valve lines up with the exhaust port pretty easy

But the rear 2&3 & 5&6 exhaust ports are siamesed on the 2.8 wink so not that straight forward.

Thanks for responding but I don't have access to a Haynes Granada manual here and the exhaust manifold was still a toss up guess. You guys seem to have your cars apart more than me, it's still in great shape except for the oil drip from the gearbox that I can't track down yet.
Thanks.

Correction; it's 4&5 NOT 5&6 which are siamesed. Here you go....

If the oil drip is around the area to the front of the gear box it may simple down to a weeping rocker box gasket allowing oil to run down the back of the block and down the bell-housing.

Love the colour! thumbup Not sure about the boat fender around the front bumper though. Is that home-grown or something TVR had to do to meet USA regulations at the time?

If it's a USA 280i is it using the American heads?
If so, aren't they a normal - in ex in ex in ex - on each head? spin

Easiest way to remember is that the spark plugs point towards the exhaust valve on each cylinder.

There was two maybe three different rubber bumper strips on USA 280i.

The coupe had even worse ones!
