Hi there, i'e posted this on the chim forum as well but wonder if anyone here has experiencing of retrofitting aircon to their car? I'm moving to Australia and want to take my '97 chim with me. I thought Aircon would be useful as even roof down motoring can get incredibly hot in summer. Does anyone have any idea of how difficult it is? How much to budget? Is it worth it?
Thanks

I would imagine it's a big job to retrofit, would be easier to swap the car with one already fitted. As for effectiveness this may help.

Hi...
Take a look at Car Builder Solutions, as they appear to sell a diy A/C unit...

My S has aircon but it's a 2.8 so probably more room under the bonnet than one of those V8 tractor engines.

Probably easier to fit an aftermarket solution. Speak to Tim Arnold at Arnold's custom and classic as the UK dealer for the US vintage air system. I'm going to fit one to my XJ coupe as I rebuild it.

Tractor engines? Those in glass houses mate.......
