Does anyone have some 400 se sills taking up space in a garage, I'm not sure if they're the same length as standard 350i versions although I can't see a reason why they're not, cars going in for paint very soon. Perhaps post dimensions (overall length) or pm me.
John.
I think you will find that the 400se sills are part of the bodywork and don't come off, hence doubt anyone will have a set in the garage.John.
TET moulding got sold a while back but the website is still online

As has been said - the sills are not separate .. and also not listed on TET site.

Yes sill covers, but it would appear I've managed to secure a pair of 390se ones which look to be ideal for my purpose, they'll save a lot of work, I was wrong asking for 400 se sills as yes I realise they are part of the body, 17 years with mine and I still can't get it correct🙄

You will still need quite a bit of work to blend them in to the wings as the 390 has small flairs, not as big as the 400 but but i would have thought it will take some skill to get right.stevoj said:

Depends which variant of the 390SE; the early ones had no 'integral' flares at all, there were small flares incorporated in the front airdam but nothing at the rear.Series 1 cars got more aggressive flares through production and then the Series 2 got yet more with the introduction of the OZ 5-spokes.
...and (at least on the Series 1) the flares were added to the shell by the usual GRP techniques, the factory didn't have a dedicated mould for the 390SE shell. Thus adding them would be just as hard for you as it was for them
Look under a 390 with the sill covers off and you can clearly see the edges of the additional resin/filler.

Cheers yes I appreciate that but with the sill covers we've now got a guide to work from, better than nothing at all.Don't want too big a flare at top of arch just enough to cover the wheel protrusion.
