I'm booked in for this with Javlin they run there own sprint series which is a bit more relaxed than the msa sprints, basically you can turn up in your road going car and take part, would be good to see a few TVRs there to show the modern stuff how to do it, or not in my case.

Hey Trev, What is the format of a sprint ?? Is it a marked out track with a timer . ? Not that I can make that date ,but for future interest . wink

I would love to do that but I'm only going to put my engine back in, in about 10 days time. Add to that running in and remapping and it's impossible.

Best of luck with that, let us know the results.

Hi Colin hope all's well with you.
The format for the day is two sighting laps, one untimed practice then six to eight timed laps the day flows quite well as long as people don't get to carried away on track, plenty of time for chatting.
The lap starts from the pit lane and finishes just after the last corner before the start/finish straight so you can return to the pits.
You obviously don't get the same amount of track time as a track day but the timed laps do add a bit more interest.

Peter I will report back on my efforts I need to do well as I have lost all my hard earned brownie points, apparently the 26th is mothering Sunday.

i did several javalin sprints last year including the season closing one at snett around 80 cars meant it was just boring but earlier rounds with less cars werent so bad but wont be doing any more plus dont like the idea of thrashing a cold car from the lights as no warming up allowed.

Well I had a bit of a mare at the weekend run two was my best but it went rapidly down hill from there, think it's time for a track day next.

I'm there this Sunday Peter supporting my sprinting mate who just bought an MGTF for £800 Mid engine so might be fun.
He's entered a meeting or other.

Mazda MX5 Mk3 race cars lap Snett in around 2.15 wink
