Agreed.

I had hoped to attend, but was unable at the last moment due to work.

I am about to take the Cerbera out as a mark of respect to Toby and
to show my thoughts are with those gathered to pay their last respects.

Would it not be a positive gesture for the TVR Pistonheads community, TVRCC, and perhaps some related companies to club together to commission a good quality trophy in silver that could be named after Toby and awarded as a suitable category prize in one of the TVR race meets or series?

I think this is an excellent idea that should be looked at, if Alan and family approve, after a suitable time period has passed......my thought are with you all today.

We were unable to attend the funeral today but I had my own small service of remembrance at 10.30. My thoughts are with all Toby's family and friends on this saddest of occasions. The whole TVR community is in shock.
Rest in peace Toby.

Shocking news. I add my condolences.

Compliments to Ted for the sensitive break in PH postings during the funeral service.

Bit late to this

My condolensces to Toby's family.
27 is no age to be taken away from ones loved ones.

We all feel connected to this,When you own a TVR you become part of a large group of people who touch your live in many ways.

I didnt know Toby personally but my TVR was originally serviced at TMS from 98-2003.And from reading all these posts he appears to have been a very special person indeed.
His parents and girlfriend must be especially proud of this fact.
A loss for the whole community. So sorry.

Keep safe you lot.

My condolences go to Toby’s family. He was a great guy, even for the short time I knew him from going into TMS 8 months ago and buying my T350. It was a really nice service today. And I felt that Toby’s parents reading’s touched a lot of people. A great loss, so young. May he R.I.P. Daniel.

I wanted to reply immediately to Chrissie's post, but I just didn't have the words at the time to express how full of admiration I am for her bravery and strength (as with Alan, too); it was also difficult to post with tears in my eyes (which are appearing again now in any case). You are both amazing people.

I wasn't able to make Toby's funeral yesterday, but I thought of him, his family and friends at the time. I can say no more than I did in my previous post.

A colleague of mine at work also lost both his parents yesterday in a car accident in Cumbria.

Sometimes the world can seem a dreadful place, but the world is also full of times of joy and happiness for which, I'm sure, despite never knowing Toby, he will be remembered by everyone he came in contact with.

Sue and I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and the wreath sent on behalf of members and staff at PistonHeads was brilliant. We were overwhelmed to see the hundreds who attended the church ceremony including PistonHead members in their TVRs and other marques of various ages.

Thursday was a very difficult day but we tried to give Toby a good ‘send off’. The day culminated in a party with his close friends in our garage ‘til 2.30am the next morning, just to remind the neighbours of what they will be missing. Toby often had parties when we were away and these ended up in the garage since he enforced our strict ‘no smoking’ rule in the house. Photographic evidence has now started to creep out of the woodwork via his mates, some of which should not be published, but the neighbours admit it was generally just high spirits and loud music. The only cause for concern was when some were observed abseiling from the roof via a rope slung round the chimney. Boys will be boys!

We are really beginning to miss him now and it will take a very long time to create a new form of ‘normality’ if indeed we can. If anyone is ever passing through Scalford (LE14 4DS), it will always help to hear a TVR exhaust along Sandy Lane and turning round (slowly) on the village hall car park next door to us, so feel free to do so.

Keep those sales going and the TVR Brand alive and Tobes will be watching from somewhere I’m sure.

Finally, enjoy driving your TVRs but be safe and thank you all again for your kind words and support.

Very sad.

Same thing happened in Cardiff 18 months ago, private seller and test-driver both D.O.S... was persuaded at that point to take the trade-in of my chim rather than the risk of taking a novice out in it to test when I had to sell - if something like this can happen to an expert.... it doesn't bear thinking about.

I hope that Toby's family and friends can take some solace at this devastating time from the support of all PH-ers, some of whom knew or had met Toby, others - myself included - who hadn't but who were moved to post by the tragic loss of a fellow TVR enthusiast in the prime of his life.

Heartfelt sympathies to all who have been touched by this tragedy.

I wish to offer my sincere condolences.

My heart goes out to Alan, Sue & Chrissie. I've never met Toby but by the comments from the many people on this thread, he was a fine son and a fine man.

May he rest in peace.
