Why not find an obliging owner with the same model and colour as yours. Let him clean your engine until it gleams, then as he goes to put it back in the garage, leap in and drive off, leaving the poor unfortunate polisher to discover his own car, dirty, still in the garage.

Ah no - my mistake. Its only a sad tw@t with a Toyota who'd fall for that one

Just think, all those hours you spend cleaning them you could be out driving.

Honestly you people should get your priorities right.

Zippy500 - you didn't say how you do nickel plating.

Interiesting thing about orange filler caps. For a while I had two Griffs, a 4.0 as well as the current 500. The cap on the 4.0 was perfect, whilst the opne on the 500 was split (they all seem to do that). So just before I sold the 4.0, I swapped the caps over so I kept the good one. Within a month or two on the 500, it had started splitting in exactly the same place. Guess the 500 engine bay must get significantly hotter!

BTW I'd be interested to see what the filler caps sans plastic look like, if any kind person could pst a pic...?

I knew I'd seen them somewhere; there is a picture of Leven ashtray blanks on TVRCC's website in the regalia section.

Ta-da! No prices on there though.

I'm not senile after all! Phew!

Anyone else like me without any ashtrays at all?

But still with a fag lighter

Which actually is OK since I gave up smokin' fags to get the car in the first place?!

For the pic go "[ pic]www.pictureofmycleanengine.com[ /pic]" but without any spaces in the brackets....

Also, before you "Submit Reply", if you click "Preview" it means you don't need ot keep editing it if it doesn't work... Took me days to figure it out !
