Not wishing to upset any city folk, but how can you find out what your car performs like driving around in 1st from one set of traffic lights to another. It would drive me absolutely nuts. Glad I live only a five minute run from glorious country windy stuff. We South Western Tiv owners rev our engines in the Cheddar Gorge once a year, maybe the Fezza boys should come a hear real noise (and we don't upset the pedestrians).

True.
Harmless fun in this over regulated country of ours.

I dont get the Tiv run either to be honest, I would rather be out driving the car. I went to one London run and will never do another, too much sitting at traffic lights and not enough driving for my liking....? To be fair some of the Ferrari boys didnt agree with the run either stating that loads more people went on the 'Poseur' run than on a nice drive through the twisties arranged some time earlier...and said they gave Fezza owners a bad name? Each to their own I guess, this doesnt bother me if they want to go and rev the engines at traffic lights, its up to them. Its the attitude that everyone really wants a Ferrari that baffles me as I certainly dont.....?

no, it didnt. the londonplonker 'come on then- illl ave yaa!' chappy popped up on another thread a couple of days or so later and the bloke that had invited them along asked them where him and his mate had got to. he disappeared pretty sharpish after that. my guess is that he had homework to do.

a few days later, he showed up over here. the rest you know. ad if you dont, the boy/boys a berk.

What got me was the venom that was stirred up within the thread. I know the Fezza guys were simply doing what we all love to do, go out and enjoy our cars, but a deliberate 'go-slow' through London was always going to be a red rag to some.....I'm sure the name of the event was tongue-in-cheek at the time of invention, but it was never going to stay that way once it got publicly known.

It was just the way it turned from a backlash against a bunch of guys showing off their Ferraris, to a free-for-all virtual punch-up! First one to stick their head up gets a shoeing.....don't care what you drive!

I've driven into the City a few times in the Cerbera and even though I haven't sat stationary and revved the engine, you get people turning around and giving you a thumbs up sign. I even got a grin off of a City copper near Smithfield Market.

Thought I was going to get a tug because the car sounded really noisy driving around the market in normal mode. It might have had something to do with the fact that a pink 911 was 4 cars in front of me. He must have been thinking, "What are the odds of that? Pink 911 and then a purple TVR!"

I think the difference between the tunnel runs and the poseur was that the tunnels allow the drivers to hear their cars properly and being tunnels, there are no pedestrians to annoy or show off to!

Without naming names, I did wonder if one of the alleged Porsche owning trolls was a certain Ferrari owner that I had the misfortune to come across when I seriously looked at a 360 last year.

Rather stupidly I looked to Ferrarichat for advice and was hounded down by this one individual as to my female status. He incorrectly assumed I was male having fun at their expense.

Firstly - I do not believe someone has been daft enough to start this up again!

The two london Porker trolls were just that .. two people who got so fed up with car nuts banging seven bells out of other car nuts that they decided to really give 'em something to go on about!

Secondly - alloypearltam, email me details and I'll try and confirm if you were hit by a troll or not. There is a load of decent guys and info on F.Chat, unfortunately a lot of daftness aswell.

Sadly this same individual has "found" Pistonheads and as I understand it is continually causing trouble.

The similarities between having to prove I was female and fulham having to prove he owned a Porsche look all too similar.
