When it comes down to my pride and joy, ive always fallen into the category that seems to spend longer cleaning, and preparing my car than actually using it for what its intended, enjoying driving it. A bit sad really when you think about it, i get paranoid by the slightest marks and even after a drive it must be cleaned before being put away, weather permitting. Maybe i have that compulsive disorder

So when it comes to cleaning ive tried a number of products, from autoglym to meguiars to P21S to pinnacle etc etc etc you get the picture

A few weeks ago i meet up with an old school friend, whos returned from the states and now works for Bently in the paint dept, knowing my fascination for the above he recommended i tried Mothers products, He'd been involved with several showcar winners vehicles over in America the vast majority who used Mothers and told me i ought to try them.

What the hell, ill just add to my collection in the garage i thought.

Over the weekend ive tried several products the clay bar, sealer and glaze and the carnauba wax paste and the convertible treatment and plastic cleaner.

The results really surpassed my expectations, the plastic cleaner on the soft top window was brilliant so much better than the renovo products id tried before, the paint work finish was great too, it still remains to be seen how long the wax coating will last tho.

Has anyone else out there used any other of their range, id be interested to here your views.

If interested i found alot of the products here www.maxx-waxx.com and to my surprise the website is fronted with a cool sagaris pic

Jt - I got my Tuscan professionally detailed by Martin Pennington of Top Shot Valet who swears by Mothers products. I brought some in the US last autumn, and although I have yet to use it, I will be using the Ultimate Wax system (3 phase approach) which gave excellent results back in April when I got the car. Wax lasted (per Martin) app 6 mths, and gave a rich shine which, with regular washing, has not really abated.

JT,

We've been using Mother's for over a year now and have worked on many cars and have found the finish given is equal and in some cases better than most of the other brands out there.Mother's is still a relatively 'underground' product as you wont find it in the local car accessory shop like the competitors, this way only the enthusiasts get to use the product.
I know Martin very well and have worked on a few shows with him. There are only a few Mother's detailers in the Uk as we have to go through a training course run by Mothers UK before becoming certified detailers.
We also have a web based shop where the products can be bought and have found a lot of our clients buy the product from us to keep their cars looking good between visits.
Hell, if Chip Foose loves the product then its good enough for us.

Kev

ps. By the way we have a Tuscan on our front page.!!!! And my business partner runs a yellow Tuscan too.

Hi, good to see others agree, ill have to try some other products and let you know how i get on.
I also looked at the motherswax uk website and performance motorcare but the www.maxx-waxx.com prices beat the lot they are some 10 to 30% cheaper on all the products i looked at.
The Sagaris pic helped too

Ive been speaking to the Guy who runs www.maxx-waxx.com today, i didnt realise he was a pistoheads member, apparantly posts on the Tamora T350 Sag forum and is a T350 owner.
Spoke to him at length and he was extremely helpful.
Only too glad to support another PH and tvr owner.
Next purchase is the Mothers Reflections Advanced car wax and Top coat

Cheers

How does this compare to Zymol?

Hi

ive tried the carbon wax before at 40 quid a tub, and the results are just as good to the naked eye, ease of application is about the same. So twice as expensive and half as much product.
The zymol does last a long time, only time will tell with the Mothers but heard good reports
Will keep posted on this.

Cheers Nick.

Well chuffed with the delivery time.

I'm expecting the car to be very shiny for the show on Sunday! Will let you know how I get on.

Wasn't expecting the Mothers so soon, so was going to have to make do with the old Zymol.

We really are overdue a chesterfield meet

Andy,

i found the service great too (altho not hand delivered )had a long chat with Nick on the phone and he was more than helpful.
Just looking forward to some better weather now, im sure i'll be back for some more goodies.
i had a look on the US mothers website forum and they seem to like the advanced topcoat over the pure carnauba wax apparently gives a brilliant slickness
I must start driving !

Classic car show up near Beverley, on Sunday.

Meet up at Hooton Roberts at 11:30. Thread on the Yorkshire forum.

Be great to have a T350 there. I think that would be the full set.

Ive got a friend who had a Halc Midas Tamora, he always used the sealer & glaze and the pure carnuba wax and the finish he used to get looked like it had just been sprayed and was still wet, I must admit i love yellow tvrs.

Whats the actual colour of your chimaera Trev
