BB no offence but a bit hasty cutting off the last thread wasn't it? I know that as a moderator yo uhave to keep an eye on the site and the content of the threads etc. and I know that is not an easy thing to get right. But cutting off a thread after three posts and just saying already on the home page is a bit much surely !! If you're going to close a thread whay not a link to the area you are suggesting the answer can be read? the way it was cut off made me think 'oh great more censorship, when all that happened was someone asked a question !!

This is happening more and more often , a moderator feels its not the sort of thread they want to see , too off topic or just plain disagrees with it , only this morning Ted closed one comenting "can we get back to cars" then there are several mutual self masterbation type threads going on all day ,,,, im getting a little pissed off with it ,, talk about give some one a little power and it going to their head
It would be polite when moderators close threads bacause the issue has been dealt with elsewhere to include a link to that thread. IMHO.
Came across one this morning where I wanted to offer some advice, but the thread was closed with the comment "you'll get a response on your other thread, honest". Well he very nearly didn't, as it took a while to find. Doh!
BTW no-one "gave" Ted the power, it was he who said "let there be light!".

The moderators are a great help to me and none of us gets the balance right all the time.

Sorry to disappoint Phil, believe it or not I was genuinely trying to help George.
My reason for closing the post was simple really, it wasn’t as you put it being dealt with elsewhere in all fairness, It was a double post
I think it may eventually have got a little confusing if I had not closed it.
I agree in hindsight, that I could have posted a link, but in my own defense I was probably a little tired having spent nearly 5 1/2 hours on P/H last night!
So to make amends and as I’m awake and only been on P/H on and off today for about 2-3 hours.

Phil please don’t’ think this ramble (it’s not a rant) is directed at you personally, but.
I would like to say just for the record, I moderate on the Chimaera voluntarily.
I enjoy it and I thank Ted, for honor and the privilege of allowed to do so.
I honestly believe all the moderators do try to help and keep a little sanity in the mad house, not an easy task at times.
There is one thing I have noticed moderating on P/H over the last six months and that is, that you get more kicks up the ar$e for trying to help than pats on the back (not that pats on the back are expected BTW). To be cont.

I did start typing this about 4:30 I see a few more threads have been posted since then. But as I spent bl**dy ages typing it you may as well read it.

Keep up the good work, it cannot be easy trying to judge some of the comments on this site. As someone wrote earlier this week, without being able to see the person who makes a comment, hear the tone of their voice, check out body language etc. who can tell quite how what they are writing is meant to be taken?
Might also help if you learn to type quicker!!

Ok prehaps i should of put three different links to the other three threads this was being covered on and, it being in the news. yeah maybe a bit hasty but im not on line constantly so have to choice to leave it it stop it. Prehaps youd like to try sometime!!!, i feel i am normally very fair and dont wave the stick very often and just let threads die out.

No nubbin im havin a good day thanks , its just how i feel about this site of late ,there really is an elitist group emerging on here and its not a high point of the site as far as i am concerned , BB you just sit down and let me wipe your brow with a cool damp towel mate .
All im saying is i am a little tired of moderators butting in and closing one thread where another is alowed to run rampant , Big Al whats your problem
